The patient was admitted to the hospital in a conscious state, able to communicate, with pink lips, warm limbs, clear radial pulse, and regular breathing. The wound on the right side of the face was complex, including many deep cuts with 10 wounds, 5x3cm in size, bleeding slightly...

Immediately, the patient was given a wound stopper, anti-rabies serum was injected around the wound to neutralize the virus and rabies toxin, preventing it from spreading to the central nervous system. Rabies vaccine was given according to the schedule, anti-tetanus serum, antibiotics, pain relievers, wound was washed, and the wound was stitched intermittently with about 20 stitches.

After 4 days of treatment, the child's condition gradually improved and the rabies vaccination regimen continued.

On the same day, the City Children's Hospital said that it had just provided timely emergency care to a child patient named D.QH (6 years old, residing in Cai Nuoc commune, Ca Mau province) who was bitten on the left foot by a red-tailed green pit viper. The family stopped the bleeding and caught the snake, immediately took the child to the local hospital, provided first aid to stop the bleeding, administered IV fluids, and then transferred him to the City Children's Hospital.

Here, the child was found to have a swollen and bruised left thumb and ankle, bleeding through the gauze, a lethargic appearance, and blood tests showed a severe blood clotting disorder. The family brought along a snake that was caught, a red-tailed green pit viper. Therefore, the doctors diagnosed the child as being bitten by a red-tailed green pit viper and administered a specific antivenom serum to the child.

As a result, the child's condition did not improve after 6 hours, so a second dose of antivenom was given. After 12 hours, the child's bleeding stopped and the snake bite wound was less swollen and bruised.
