The artist regularly competes in Cannes and won the Jury Prize in 2013 with Like Father, Like Son . In 2018, the director's work Shoplifters received the Palme d'Or at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Broker , which won Song Kang-ho the Best Actor award at Cannes 2022, was also directed by him. Last year, Kore-eda's Monster won the Best Screenplay award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
