
Earlier, at 11am the same day, Mr. Cha suffered from severe abdominal pain, fatigue, and high blood pressure due to decompression sickness while diving deep. DK1/9 platform (Ba Ke Cluster) received him, gave him first aid, and then transferred him to Truong Sa island for treatment.
According to Captain Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Chief of the Truong Sa Island Infirmary, upon admission, the patient was in a state of fatigue, weakness in both legs, blood pressure of 140/100 mmHg, diagnosed with type II hypotension, complications of thoracic spinal cord injury. The infirmary urgently applied a treatment regimen including oxygen therapy; anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, pain relievers and fluid replacement.

Truong Sa Island Infirmary conducted an online consultation with Military Hospital 175 to agree on a treatment plan.
Patient Nguyen Van Cha, born in 1980, from Khanh Hoa , is a fisherman on fishing boat QNg 90789TS. On the evening of October 6, Mr. Cha dived about 25m deep, three times in a row, each time for nearly an hour to catch seafood.
