According to a VNA reporter in Moscow, within the framework of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic relations, a special art exhibition titled "Teacher-Student: Melody of a Road" opened at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow.

The exhibition brings together about 90 diverse works including paintings, graphics, sculptures and decorative arts by Soviet and Russian master artists and their Vietnamese students. Notably, many authors are members of the Soviet and Russian Academy of Arts.

The event was honored to welcome the wife of General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi and his wife, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko and his wife, along with many officials from both countries and art lovers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Tsereteli expressed his honor to organize this beautiful exhibition, demonstrating the inheritance between generations of Russian-Vietnamese artists.

He pointed out that the works of the Vietnamese school of painting and the Russian realist school showed that teachers and students in the same space still created world- class visual art works.

The artistic quality of the Exhibition is demonstrated by the presence of many master artists, including People's Artist Nikas Safronov, one of the most expensive artists in Russia.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrei Malyshev affirmed that cooperation in training in the creative field between the two countries has been widely implemented for a long time, and today has formed an artistic "path" as the name of the exhibition "Teacher and Student..."

The exhibition, representing more than half a century of joint creations by outstanding Soviet and Russian art masters and their Vietnamese students, who were trained in the land of the White Birch in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, reflects the deepest nature of the relationship between the two countries, is a vivid example of the friendship and close cooperation between the two peoples, emphasizing the connection and closeness between the two cultures.

Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova used many warm and sincere words to welcome the Exhibition. She quoted many sayings of Vietnamese writers and poets when talking about Russia in the hearts of Vietnam.

Notably, the exhibition displays five works by painter, People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan, father of the wife of General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly - one of the first Vietnamese students to study in the Soviet Union since 1962.

After years of studying in the Soviet Union, artist Ngo Manh Lan became a great animator and a respected teacher of many generations of students.

Many generations of Vietnamese children grew up with his animated films "The Adventures of a Cricket" (1959) , "The Kitten's Tet" (1970), "The Talking Starling" (1970) and other works.

He had a long-standing personal friendship with his teacher, Ivan Petrovich Ivanov-Vano, who later inspired him to draw the animated film "Ave Maria" (1972).

Madam Ngo Phuong Ly pointed out that the Exhibition demonstrated the good results in training cooperation in general, and fine arts training in particular, between the two countries.

Touched by the affection and respect from Russian art experts for the works of artist Ngo Manh Lan, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly affirmed that the Exhibition will contribute significantly to strengthening the friendship and good traditional relationship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly was honored to receive the Gold Medal "For the worthy" from the Russian Academy of Arts for her active contributions to the development of art and international cultural relations.

At the same time, sculptor Dao Chau Hai - a student of Professor and People's Artist PI Bondarenko - was also awarded the title of Honorary Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.

As Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh reiterated, Vietnam and the Russian Federation are bound together by a long-standing traditional friendship.

The 75-year relationship between the two countries is a priceless asset of the people, with positive contributions from the foundation of profound cultural cooperation, including the teacher-student relationship of many generations of Vietnamese and Russian people.

Referring to the Russian proverb "A teacher is a second father to every person", Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh respectfully thanked the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Russian Teachers and Friends for their initiative in organizing the exhibition.

Art lovers who cherish the Vietnam-Russia friendship can admire the artworks that blend the devoted guidance of Russian teachers and the creativity of Vietnamese students until September 28 in Moscow./.
