Not stopping at curing diseases, Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW focuses on disease prevention, improving physical fitness, and comprehensive health care for people, from physical and mental health to nutrition and living environment. This is an important shift in thinking, in line with the world trend and reality in Vietnam, when new epidemics, non-communicable diseases and the pressure of population aging are increasingly evident.
Along with that, the resolution also emphasizes breakthrough solutions on: improving the quality of the primary health care system, investing in preventive health care, innovating health finance so that people can enjoy equitable and sustainable services; developing high-quality health human resources; promoting the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and especially promoting healthy lifestyles in the community. These solutions not only solve immediate problems, but also create the foundation for a "healthy Vietnam by 2030, with a vision to 2045".
In the context of Vietnam entering a new era, creating a healthy, physically fit and intelligent workforce will contribute to improving labor productivity, competitiveness and national strength. Therefore, investing in health is investing in the future.
To realize the goals in the above resolution, the role of each citizen is a very important deciding factor. Each citizen needs to proactively build a scientific lifestyle, with a reasonable diet, limit alcohol and tobacco, increase physical activity, maintain personal hygiene and the environment. These are the first "barriers" to prevent diseases, especially non-communicable diseases.
Along with that, physical exercise and sports, improving physical fitness needs to become a daily habit for everyone, especially the young generation, to create a generation of healthy citizens, strong enough to shoulder the cause of nation building.
