That was the opinion of Mr. Tran Khang Chien, Vice President of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, at the meeting to celebrate the 76th anniversary of China's National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2025), organized by the City Union of Friendship Organizations on the afternoon of September 25.
Congratulating the 76th anniversary of China's National Day, Mr. Tran Khang Chien said that Vietnam and China are "mountains connected, rivers connected", good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners. The bilateral relationship between the two countries, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, has been developing more and more firmly, and is a precious common asset of the people of both sides.
The leader of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City said that, based on the good relationship between the two countries, in the City, in recent years, economic - trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China has maintained a strong development momentum. China is currently the 16th largest investor among countries and territories investing in the City; the total trade turnover between Ho Chi Minh City and China in 2024 reached 24.4 billion USD; in the first 6 months of 2025 it was 11.78 billion USD.
In addition, people-to-people exchange and economic trade activities take place continuously and regularly in many fields and sectors. The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam-China Friendship Association have coordinated with the Chinese Consulate General in the City to carry out many people-to-people exchange activities in the fields of culture, education , sports, etc., contributing to the good relationship between the two countries in general, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Chinese localities in particular.
Thanking the City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the celebration of a great day for the Chinese people, Mr. Duong Lap, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, said that under the leadership of senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam has been continuously deepened and achieved many positive results.
According to Mr. Duong Lap, in recent times, the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese Consulate General have closely coordinated, together preserving and promoting the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam in the Southern region. Many people-to-people exchange activities such as delegation exchanges, organizing seminars on the history of the struggle for national independence, etc. have been organized, fostering the good friendship between the people of China and Vietnam.
Appreciating and thanking the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association for their important contributions to the development of China-Vietnam relations, Mr. Duong Lap expressed his commitment to continue to closely coordinate with the Union to carry out people-to-people diplomacy activities, constantly enhance mutual understanding and trust, promote exchanges and connections, foster China-Vietnam friendship, and actively contribute to the building of a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance between China and Vietnam.
