Proposal to add 2 interchanges connecting Cam Lo - La Son expressway

Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien said he has just proposed the Ministry of Construction to add two interchanges connecting Cam Lo - La Son expressway with the province's cross-axis road project.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the project to expand the North-South expressway in the East, Cam Lo - La Son section, is invested in and built to contribute to creating momentum to promote socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; promoting the potential and strengths of Quang Tri province, Hue city in particular and the provinces in the North Central and Central Central regions in general.

The Cam Lo - La Son Expressway section passing through Quang Tri province, over 37 km long, has invested in interchanges at the beginning of the route (km 0) in Cam Lo district and at km 30+500, Hai Lang district.

However, according to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, passing through Quang Tri province are vertical axes including the coastal road, National Highway 1, the North - South railway, the North - South Eastern Expressway (coinciding with the North - South Western Expressway) and Ho Chi Minh Road connecting with important horizontal axes of the country and region including: National Highway 9D, National Highway 9, Cam Lo - Lao Bao Expressway, National Highway 9H and National Highway 15D forming a complete North - South, East - West traffic network.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province proposed the Ministry of Construction to add an interconnecting intersection of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway project with the Cam Lo - Lao Bao expressway, through Trieu Phong district (at km13+511/Cam Lo - La Son expressway) and an intersection with National Highway 9H, through Quang Tri town (at about km23+000/Cam Lo - La Son expressway).

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the investment in the construction of these intersections contributes to the completion of the transport infrastructure network, facilitating the travel of people and the circulation of goods, and promoting the efficiency of investment capital. On the other hand, the investment in the construction of the above intersections facilitates and connects the Southeast Economic Zone and My Thuy seaport, increasing the attractiveness in attracting investors to build and develop key projects of Quang Tri province.

Not only that, with these two additional intersections, handling emergency situations, traffic congestion, and traffic diversion and clearance on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway will be more convenient.
