In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Vice President of Dong A University emphasized: “Digital transformation is not only a vision but also a driving force for growth, innovation and global integration. The national strategy on digital transformation currently focuses on three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society with the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will be in the world's Top 50 in terms of e-Government, with the digital economy accounting for nearly 1/3 of GDP”.

This conference gathered 7 scientific reports revolving around key areas such as: upgrading internet infrastructure, building a "special epistemological zone" based on cyber-physical technology, developing digital human resources, restoring the carbon credit market, enhancing the competitiveness of seaports with green fuel, researching geological heritage associated with the digital economy and sustainable development.

Notably, research by Japanese expert Kimihiko Nagata (AIIT Institute) recommends that Da Nang should soon build an Internet Exchange Station (IX) to optimize internet infrastructure, while expert Kazuya Takano proposed applying blockchain in restoring the carbon credit market. In addition, researcher Takero Sakakibara proposed a strategy to make Da Nang the No. 1 port in ASEAN in supplying green methanol, attracting many global shipping companies.

From a local perspective, Dr. La Duong Hai (Dong A University) presented research on Nam O moss field as a “digital asset” that can be applied in virtual tourism, AR/VR and coastal management using GIS, contributing to positioning Da Nang as a center of digital economy and creative tourism.

Through reports and discussion sessions, the workshop became a forum connecting scientists, businesses and policymakers, contributing to providing solutions to promote effective and sustainable digital transformation, creating momentum for the development of Da Nang and the region.
