
At the Announcement Ceremony, the representative of the Personnel Organization Department - Customs Department announced Decision No. 3466/QD-BTC dated October 13 of the Minister of Finance on the transfer and appointment of civil servants to leadership positions.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Tax, Fee and Charge Policy Management and Supervision (Ministry of Finance) was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Customs Department from October 15. Authorized by the Minister of Finance, Director of the Customs Department Nguyen Van Tho presented the Decision, pinned the rank insignia and congratulated Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Customs Department, Party Committee Secretary and Director Nguyen Van Tho congratulated Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung on being trusted and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Customs Department; at the same time, expressed the hope that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung and the Department's leadership will promote tradition, solidarity, innovation, and bring the Customs sector to strong development.
Director Nguyen Van Tho emphasized that in the context of the country's development and deep integration, the Customs sector needs to continue to innovate and modernize, ensuring the leadership of the Party and the management of the State; complying with the law; in line with the socio -economic development orientation and international commitments. Customs must both facilitate trade and prevent smuggling and trade fraud, contributing to improving national competitiveness.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho requested the Customs Department to focus on building solidarity, maintaining discipline and order; enhancing the sense of responsibility, preventing corruption and waste; promoting Customs modernization, moving towards the model of digital Customs and smart Customs; effectively implementing the Politburo 's resolutions on science and technology, international integration, law and private economic development.
At the same time, it is necessary to improve the quality of service to people and businesses; facilitate trade, ensure national security and sovereignty; develop staff, streamline the apparatus, improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations; promote reform and application of information technology in all areas of Customs management.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung expressed his deep gratitude for the trust of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Customs Department. Mr. Hung promised to strive even harder, promote the traditions of the unit, be dedicated and devoted to work, join hands and unite with the Board of Directors and civil servants and employees of the unit to strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
According to the Customs Department's report, the total import-export turnover of the whole country in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 679.9 billion USD, an increase of 17.4% (equivalent to an increase of 100.9 billion USD) over the same period in 2024. Of which, export turnover reached 348.05 billion USD, an increase of 16.1% (equivalent to an increase of 48.2 billion USD) and import turnover reached 331.8 billion USD, an increase of 18.9% (equivalent to an increase of 52.8 billion USD) over the same period in 2024.
In addition, Vietnam's total taxable import-export turnover in the past 9 months reached 117.9 billion USD, an increase of 4.3% (equivalent to an increase of 4.9 billion USD) over the same period in 2024. Of which, taxable export turnover reached 5.04 billion USD, a decrease of 9.9% (equivalent to a decrease of 551.8 million USD); taxable import turnover reached 112.8 billion USD, an increase of 5.1% (equivalent to an increase of 5.4 billion USD) over the same period in 2024.
The representative of the Customs Department said that the total increase in turnover has helped the State budget collection from import-export activities in the past 9 months reach 336,540 billion VND, equal to 81.9% of the assigned estimate, equal to 71.6% of the target, an increase of 9.3% (equivalent to an increase of 28,556 billion VND) compared to the same period in 2024.
