Built in 1994 on Ca Mau shoal, 67 nautical miles from the mainland, DK1/10 Platform is a milestone affirming the inviolable sovereignty of the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland.
Overcoming many difficulties, the soldiers of DK1/10 Platform still continue the tradition of "As long as there are people, there will be platforms", like indomitable fortresses in the middle of the ocean, contributing to maintaining sovereignty, while being a solid support for thousands of fishermen on the southern continental shelf.

Previously, on September 13, at Battalion 553 (Phu Quoc special zone), Naval Region 5 held a ceremony to receive the Net Membrane Vegetable Garden donated by the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the ceremony were Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy; Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the reception ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Luc, Political Commissar of Battalion 553, emphasized: “Receiving the project today, we are more deeply aware of the affection and trust that the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City have for the soldiers on the remote islands. This is a great source of encouragement for officers and soldiers of Battalion 553 to continue to raise their vigilance, be ready to fight, firmly protect the sovereignty of the airspace, sea, islands and the Southwest continental shelf of the Fatherland, worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people”.
The vegetable garden project using mesh technology has overcome the specific difficulties of the island climate, limiting pests and diseases, reducing the use of pesticides, proactively providing a source of safe green vegetables. After nearly 3 months of operation, the vegetable garden has provided the unit's kitchen with more than 1,100 kg of green vegetables, tubers, etc., contributing to significantly improving the quality of meals, improving the physical strength and spiritual life of the soldiers.
