The economic scale of the province in 2023 reached 272,950 billion VND, ranking 8th in the country, 27.4 times higher than in 2000. GRDP per capita in 2023 reached 3,067 USD.

The National Target Program on New Rural Construction has been implemented with attention; the whole province currently has 13/27 district-level units meeting the standards and completing the task of building new rural areas, 363/465 communes meeting new rural standards (accounting for 78%), 97 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 23 communes meeting model new rural standards; 485 OCOP products have been recognized, ranking 3rd in the country.

Industry and construction have developed strongly; the average annual growth rate in the 2021-2023 period reached 13.68%, higher than the Resolution's target (13.3%). Nghi Son Economic Zone (area of ​​106,000 ha, one of the 8 key coastal economic zones in the country) and 8 industrial parks (total area of ​​2,035 ha) have been formed. Many new industrial facilities have been completed and put into operation, such as: Nghi Son Oil Refinery Project, Nghi Son I Thermal Power Plant, Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant, Nghi Son Steel, cement, garment, and footwear production projects...

The annual state budget revenue always exceeds the estimate; the total budget revenue for the 2021-2023 period reached 132,418 billion VND, the average annual budget revenue growth rate reached 11.3%; capital mobilization for development investment has always remained high. The total mobilized social investment capital for the 2021-2023 period reached 409.3 trillion VND; the economic and social infrastructure system has been invested in a synchronous and gradually modernized direction.

In terms of culture - society, national defense - security, and foreign affairs, there have been many progressive changes.
