Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Thuan Nam district have issued many resolutions, plans, and built a specific roadmap, focusing on effective implementation, achieving the New Rural criteria according to the plan. In the first 9 months of 2024, the district mobilized more than 138.7 billion VND to implement the program, of which more than 78 billion VND was allocated to invest in school projects, irrigation systems, traffic, markets and the District Cultural - Sports and Broadcasting Center; more than 11 billion VND to implement sustainable poverty reduction models in 3 communes: Phuoc Nam, Phuoc Ninh and Phuoc Ha. At the same time, attention is paid to education and health care for the people and poverty reduction work. By the end of 2023, the average income/person/year in the district reached 43 million VND; the poverty rate is 5.6%; 100% of commune health stations meet national standards; The district has 15/26 schools meeting national standards. Up to now, the district has 6/8 communes meeting NTM standards, of which 1 commune has met advanced NTM standards. Regarding the NTM district criteria, after review, the district has met 4/9 criteria; striving to meet NTM district standards by the end of 2025.
