Located next to the Vang Chua River in Binh Duong Commune (Dong Trieu Town), perhaps the officers and employees of Quang Ninh Gate tourist area could not have imagined that one day the river water would rise so high after the Yagi storm had passed for several days. The upstream hydroelectric plant discharged floodwaters, heavy rains after the storm in many places gathered, the river water rose, flooding the entire tourist area, the highest point was flooded with up to a meter of water.

So the cleaning of fallen trees after the storm has not yet been completed, the business continues to run away from the flood. Many places where furniture can be placed higher, but many places are also flooded. Many electrical equipment in the water park areas are damaged. Fish in ponds that have been raised for many years have swum away with strange water currents. Some houses made of earth have also broken and damaged. Many pets in the Purple Island experience area have thrown their nets and run away. After the flood, many wooden floors on the first floor of the resort were soaked in deep water for a long time and were seriously damaged, making it very difficult to fix. In addition, the mud on the ground is up to twenty centimeters high...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, Executive Director of Quang Ninh Gate Tourist Area, said: Cleaning up took a lot of time and manpower. At that time, there was no electricity or water, we had to wait for the water to recede and clean up immediately. When we needed water to clean up, we had to manually scoop it up in buckets. The generator was overloaded and broke down. Even if there was electricity at that time, we did not dare to connect it to the grid in many places because the infrastructure was flooded. We had to check and re-check or everything would short-circuit and burn out...

The number of foreign visitors to Legacy Yen Tu remained stable after the storm.

Despite the great damage in many aspects and the long recovery time, the business is still determined to reopen from the beginning of October. The recovery of the damage to the facilities will be carried out in parallel with the reception of guests, in which the organization of experiential courses for students is the strength of Quang Ninh Gate, mainly carried out in outdoor areas so it will be more convenient. As for the resort, the rooms on the first floor that have not been repaired will be temporarily closed, the rooms on the upper floors will continue to welcome guests...

Also affected by the flooding caused by the rising water level of Giai Oan stream in Yen Tu during storm Yagi, along with many damages to trees, prolonged power, water and communication outages, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company quickly organized cleaning and carefully prepared to welcome guests, so that visitors to Yen Tu would feel the after-effects of the storm less than others.

Mr. Le Trong Thanh, Deputy General Director of the Company, shared: We have suffered a great loss, and there are still many places that need to be repaired, but that is a fait accompli. The company must proactively compensate for the damage and invest in restoration costs. We are determined to be proactive ourselves, not to interrupt services, and to keep pre-booked groups of guests, even though welcoming guests at that time is very expensive, increasing the company's costs.

Many services of the SunWorld Ha Long entertainment complex have now reopened.

Right after the storm, we cleaned up and were determined to welcome guests so that tourists could quickly “forget” the storm and return to Quang Ninh instead of changing their schedules to other destinations, which would cause businesses to suffer longer-term damage. Therefore, the number of foreign visitors to Legacy is still maintained, including traditional Korean and European and American visitors, along with a new and stable stream of Taiwanese visitors who recently came to Legacy through travel agencies. And just 3 days after the storm, we welcomed a group of 300 Taiwanese visitors brought by Saigontourist from Ho Chi Minh City, who slept in all of Legacy's rooms... We will now continue to find ways to improve our products to serve better in the coming fall, winter and spring.

With the same viewpoint, the 4-star Novotel Ha Long Bay Hotel (Ha Long City) besides investing a large amount of money to repair infrastructure damage after the storm still continues to welcome guests. Many businesses have set aside a certain amount of time to maintain and repair infrastructure and welcome guests back at the end of September, such as: Tuan Chau Golf Course officially reopened on September 27; Queen Cable Car - Sun Hill in SunWorld Ha Long entertainment area continued to welcome the first visitors after the storm from September 23.

Most of the services of the SunWorld Ha Long entertainment complex are ready to serve, such as: Cable car to see the bay, Koi bridge, Bao Hai Linh Thong pagoda, Japanese garden, Samurai slide, Sword forging village, wax statue exhibition area, Kidoland children's playground and many other attractive games. In particular, Dragon Park is expected to reopen in October, only the Water Park is closed due to weather and the Sun Wheel is temporarily closed for maintenance.

Cao Son Flower Garden in Dong Van Commune (Binh Lieu) has repaired its facilities and invested more to welcome visitors during this year's autumn-winter tourist season.

Not only large, experienced businesses with many years of experience in the tourism business have invested early to quickly return to welcoming guests, but many small and medium-sized tourism businesses have also made efforts to overcome the difficult period after being heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi.

This autumn and winter can be said to be an opportunity for the mountainous border district of Binh Lieu to welcome tourists. Therefore, the locality and tourism businesses here have made careful preparations. According to information from the Department of Culture and Information of Binh Lieu district, the accommodation system with 3 hotels, 24 motels, 13 homestays with a capacity of serving about 1,200 guests of Binh Lieu suffered minor damage, basically not affected by storm Yagi, so tourist services were not interrupted. Preparing for the year-end tourist season, these establishments are now actively renovating their premises, hiring workers and investing in additional activities to better meet the needs of tourists for sightseeing and experience.

The tourist attraction that suffered the most damage due to Typhoon Yagi in Binh Lieu was Cao Son Flower Garden in Dong Van Commune, with the greenhouse having its roof blown off and some trees being knocked down by the storm. However, immediately after the storm, the garden owner repaired the damaged parts, re-roofed, reinforced the wooden bridge, cleaned up and replaced some of the fallen trees. The unit also proactively prepared clean vegetables and free-range chickens, and invested in a corner for experiencing ethnic costumes to meet the needs of tourists when they come to this tourist attraction and check-in during the autumn-winter tourist season this year.

There are many, many large, small and medium-sized enterprises in the province that have been making efforts in many ways to overcome the damage caused by the storm. And each day that passes, there are more units and establishments that can partially/fully reopen to welcome guests again. I think that is something that deserves attention and encouragement, and we need to create more practical conditions for tourism businesses to recover soon, contributing to the development of one of the province's key economic sectors.
