The effectiveness of the innovation movement in Mong Duong Coal

Innovation becomes the key to improving productivity, labor safety and production efficiency at Mong Duong Coal Joint Stock Company -

Vinacomin   (abbreviated as Mong Duong Coal) . With its outstanding initiatives, the unit has just been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and is one of two units of TKV honored to participate in the "Creative Labor Festival 2025".

In the context of the coal industry promoting the application of science and technology, Mong Duong Coal always identifies promoting collective intelligence, arousing the spirit of innovation and creativity of cadres and workers as an important driving force for sustainable development. In particular, the movement "Good workers - Creative workers" spreads widely, attracting the participation of both leaders and miners directly involved in production, bringing practical results.

One of the outstanding initiatives recognized at the "Creative Labor Festival 2025" is the solution "Maximizing the application of mining technology using mechanized rigs to increase labor productivity and ensure safety" by Mr. Hoang Trong Hiep, Party Secretary and Director of the Company.

Based on the complex geological difficulties in the mining area, Mr. Hiep's solution has proposed a new approach: instead of waiting a long time to manually deplete the entire mine field, the company proceeds to dig a short-cut tunnel, install a mechanized support system early to put the longwall into operation. This method both shortens the progress and increases the output by modern technology, reducing the volume of manual mining.

As a result, the initiative brought in more than 1 billion VND in profit, contributing to ensuring continuous production, maintaining a stable mining pace and improving safety for miners. This is not only a technical achievement but also shows the innovative thinking and determination in directing production of the unit's head.

While at the leadership level there are directional solutions, at the production line, many direct workers have affirmed their proactive and creative roles. A typical example is Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhung, Deputy Head of Production Team, Exploitation Workshop 9.

With more than 21 years of experience in the mine, Mr. Nhung has always been exemplary and dedicated to his work, with an average working day of 25 working days/month in 2024, earning an average income of 25 million VND/month. In particular, he actively participates in research and technical innovation, typically the initiative "Processing and converting the hanger of the XHF operating valve cluster of the ZRY platform of the Ha10a Canh Dong market furnace", contributing to improving the safety and efficiency of equipment operation.

Not only directly creative, Mr. Nhung also enthusiastically guides young workers, shares professional experience, encourages solidarity and enthusiasm in working in the group. He has been recognized many times as a grassroots Emulation Fighter, a typical face in the company's emulation movement.

From the initiatives of the leaders to the efforts of the miners directly involved in production, the innovation movement at Mong Duong Coal has truly become an important driving force. Every year, the company has dozens of initiatives applied, bringing in billions of dong in economic efficiency, while creating an environment that encourages workers to develop their intelligence, improve working conditions, and ensure safety in the mine.

The fact that Mong Duong Coal was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the "Creative Labor Festival 2025" is not only a worthy recognition, but also affirms the pioneering role of the unit in technological innovation, promoting green - safe - effective production in the coal industry.
