Innovation, creativity, and proactiveness in bringing Hai Duong province's press to new heights

Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation attended and delivered a speech. Comrades: Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Minh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors, and a large number of members of the Provincial Journalists Association attended.

The speech commemorating the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, read by Comrade Vu Van Uy, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, at the meeting, affirmed that in recent years, Hai Duong press has had strong development. The whole province currently has 5 press agencies, 2 special issues and 20 news bulletins. Press agencies in Hai Duong always adhere to the principles and purposes to achieve the highest efficiency in propagating the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and local regulations. Hai Duong press has focused on propagating in many forms, contributing with the Party and people to promote the tradition of solidarity, joint efforts, unanimity, making the most of the province's advantages, constantly innovating, creating, strongly arousing the will and aspiration to rise up, creating new positions and forces for development.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu affirmed that, in the past time, every step of the province has been fully and vividly reflected by the provincial press through specific and profound works, both spreading, encouraging and motivating, and suggesting and giving advice to help the provincial leaders to be more confident and move forward steadily.

In 1933, comrade Nguyen Luong Bang launched Cong Nong newspaper, the first revolutionary newspaper in Hai Duong. Over the years, Hai Duong press has made important contributions to propagating and mobilizing cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life to implement the Party and State's policies and laws; building the Party, government, and political system; developing the socio-economy, criticizing and exposing negative issues. Since then, the Party committees and government have increasingly done a better job of leadership and direction.

In the coming time, reporters and journalists need to further promote the fighting spirit in their works, especially in the field of Party and government building. Reporters need to be careful to avoid writing articles that are highly fighting but not very humane. At the same time, the press must also do a better job of praising good people and good deeds, contributing to promoting the patriotic emulation movement. Widely propagate the province's policies to all classes of people and businesses.

In 2023, the provincial leaders agreed to organize the Nguyen Luong Bang Journalism Award from every 5 years to an annual award and replace the current annual journalism award to create conditions for reporters to work better and create sharper works. Therefore, the Provincial Journalists Association needs to coordinate with specialized agencies to soon implement this award. At the same time, the Provincial Journalists Association needs to have more specific activities to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of journalists. The Journalists Association must truly be a reliable and warm destination for journalists and reporters.

On this occasion, comrade Le Van Hieu wished journalists good health, steadfastness, and courage; to increasingly improve their "professionalism, modernity, and humanity"; to continue to innovate, be creative, and proactively bring the provincial press to new heights, and to better serve the political tasks assigned by the Party, government, and people.

Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has awarded the 2023 Provincial Journalists Association Press Awards, including 2 A prizes, 3 B prizes, 6 C prizes and 13 consolation prizes.

The two works that won A prize were “Disillusioned with labor export because of ghost companies” by the group of authors Hoang Bien - Lan Anh (Hai Duong Newspaper) and the series of articles “Light from the 1943 Vietnamese Culture Outline” by the group of authors Phuong Thao - Duc Hoan (Hai Duong Radio - Television Station).

Previously, the Organizing Committee of the 2023 Provincial Journalists Association Press Award received 45 outstanding press works from nearly 100 authors and groups of authors, including 14 written press works, 8 electronic press works, 22 visual press works and 1 radio work.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded the Commemorative Medal for the cause of Vietnamese journalism to 7 members; approved the admission of 22 new members from the province's press agencies; the Provincial Journalists Association awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in professional work and the Association's work in 2023.
