Participating in the World Petanque Championship held in Thailand from November 23 to 27, the Vietnamese women's team made history with a gold medal in the trio event and a silver medal in the individual technique event.
The 4 players representing the Vietnamese team competing in the women's trio event are Thach Thi Anh Lan ( Tra Vinh ), Kim Thi Thu Thao (Tra Vinh), Tran Thi Diem Trang (Binh Duong), Trinh Thi Kim Thanh (Binh Duong).
In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese girls excellently defeated the French team with a score of 13-10 to reach the final. In the final match against Thailand, the Vietnamese women's team won a thrilling 13-12 to win the precious gold medal.
In the individual technical event, Thach Thi Anh Lan (Tra Vinh) also won a silver medal after losing to her opponent Myanmar in the final match.
