Ngoc Vung Border Guard Station successfully coordinated to rescue a fishing boat in distress.

On June 17, in the waters of Van Don district, a fishing boat of Hai Phong fishermen in distress was successfully rescued by Ngoc Vung Border Guard Station.

The fishing boat drifted and ran aground in the southwest area of ​​Ha Mai island.

Specifically, at 7:00 a.m. on June 17, Ngoc Vung Border Guard Station received a phone call reporting that a fishing boat had an engine failure and was caught in a storm, drifting and running aground on a rocky reef in the southwest of Ha Mai Island, in the waters of Ngoc Vung Commune, Van Don District. The fishing boat had license plate HP-90883-TS, captained by Le Van Phuc (born in 1975, registered residence in Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong ). The person reporting the news was a crew member on board.

The crew of the fishing boat in distress were given a health check.

After receiving the news, the unit immediately deployed a team of 6 officers and soldiers operating a motorboat to the location of the distressed vessel to check the situation; at the same time, quickly reported to the Provincial Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Van Don district about the content of the distressed fishing vessel to ask for instructions; informed the 169th Naval Brigade, the 170th Naval Brigade (currently conducting exercises in the Thuong and Ha Mai sea areas) to coordinate the implementation of the rescue plan.

The officers and soldiers temporarily repaired the fishing boat in distress to bring it safely to shore.

At around 10:30 a.m. the same day, officers from the Border Guard Station approached the fishing boat in distress and confirmed that all 9 crew members on board were safe. However, the boat was severely damaged, with water flooding into the compartments that had been breached due to the impact with the rocks in the high waves and strong winds.

The working group coordinated to repair the damaged ship's engine, temporarily seal the flooded compartments, pump out the water; and at the same time provided medical support, food, and drinking water to the crew on board. By 12:15 p.m. the same day, the HP-90883-TS ship was brought back to the Ha Mai border control station wharf for further repairs.
