Viet Truong Company Limited is located in Do Son Ward, specializing in the production of frozen seafood and aquatic products for the domestic market and for export to the US and some countries in Europe and Asia. In 2024, the company's total domestic and export sales revenue will reach 25 million USD (equivalent to 630 billion VND). In 2025, this enterprise aims to increase total revenue by 10% compared to the previous year.

However, the obstacle to expanding the export market of the enterprise comes from the source of raw materials. Specifically, the company's goal is to promote the export of frozen tilapia to the US market, but currently, the facilities raising this type of fish are mainly in the West Hai Phong area, basically not meeting the requirements on antibiotic residues for fish. The enterprise's leaders expressed their hope that relevant departments, branches, sectors and farmers would coordinate and remove obstacles so that in the coming time, the enterprise will have an abundant source of goods to meet the needs of customers around the world .

Not only seafood processing enterprises, agricultural processing units also share this concern. Hoang Nam Phat Cooperative located in Nam An Phu commune (West of Hai Phong ) is currently linked with many farmers in the area, specializing in providing products such as cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower... for export to Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and serving the domestic market. The unit is facing some difficulties in testing pesticide residues in the products.

The reason is that the unit's technology and machinery system is not modern enough, and cannot accurately detect the amount of excess active ingredients in the prescribed time. Mr. Ho Viet Hoang, Director of Hoang Nam Phat Cooperative, requested to be given preferential loans so that the unit can invest in more modern equipment in the agricultural production and processing line.

Accompanying businesses to overcome difficulties, speaking at the Local Dialogue Session - Red River Delta cluster, within the framework of the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2025 (VPSF 2025), held at the end of August in Hai Phong, comrade Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, together with representatives of relevant departments and branches, and experts directly answered, discussed, and clarified the opinions, recommendations, and difficulties of local businesses.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that in the coming time, the city authorities at all levels are committed to continuing to strongly improve the investment environment, gradually removing barriers, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to develop and integrate into the economy.

Agricultural credit growth

In addition to the efforts of each enterprise and the city government, credit institutions and banks have also actively participated in supporting enterprises in terms of capital, specifically, accelerating disbursement for the agricultural sector. According to the State Bank of Region 6 (Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province), by the end of August 2025, credit for the agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors grew strongly by double digits of 23.53% compared to the end of 2024, accounting for 4.46% of total outstanding credit in the region. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, Acting Director of the State Bank of Region 6, informed that from dozens of meetings and dialogues between banks and enterprises organized by the unit in August, banks are expected to lend more than 3.1 trillion VND to 192 enterprises; restructure debt repayment terms, reduce interest rates, reduce fees... to contribute to supporting enterprises in the production and business process, towards sustainable development.

Viet Truong Company Limited is borrowing a total capital of more than 300 billion VND from a number of banks in the city, such as: Agribank, Vietinbank, SHB, VCB, MBB..., of which, the largest loan is from Agribank Hai Phong Branch. Mr. Ngo Viet Truong, Director of Viet Truong Company Limited, said that the timely support of banks has contributed to significantly reducing financial pressure. Specifically, the company expects to pay off all debts by 2026. However, after working together, banks and businesses agreed to extend debt repayment and restructuring, not allowing bad debts, overdue debts... The company's principal and interest payments are extended according to progress until the end of 2028.

According to Mr. Le Van Viet, Vice President of Hai Phong Young Entrepreneurs Association, small, medium and micro enterprises are facing difficulties such as lack of capital, technology, lack of high-quality human resources, etc., making it difficult to participate in large supply chains and international markets. In the coming time, the association will continue to closely coordinate with more than 500 members to resolve these problems, including gradually improving the product quality of agricultural processing enterprises in the city.

By applying many synchronous solutions, including maximizing the advantages of modern logistics infrastructure through inland container depot (ICD) systems, cold and dry warehouses, helping to preserve agricultural products well, Hai Phong aims to become a locality with integrated industrial and agricultural economic development, hoping to bring the city's high-quality agricultural products to a wider international market.
