Simultaneous reduction of SJC gold bars and gold rings

(NLDO) – Gold prices fell today as the new trading week opened in both domestic and international markets.

On the morning of January 13, the world gold price opened the new trading week at 2,686 USD/ounce, down about 5 USD/ounce compared to the closing price at the end of last week. The gold price decreased in the context of the USD continuing to maintain at a high level.

The USD index is currently at 109.4 points, the highest level since October 2022. If calculated from the beginning of September 2024 until now, the USD index has increased from the 100 point zone to the current highest level of over 109 points (up 9%).

If calculated over the past month, today's gold price has increased by about 40 USD/ounce.

World gold prices fell at the beginning of the week, causing domestic gold prices to also cool down after 3 consecutive weeks of increase.

This morning, SJC Gold Company listed the buying price of gold bars at 84.6 million VND/tael and the selling price at 86.6 million VND/tael, down 200,000 VND/tael compared to last weekend. The gold price cooled down after increasing by about 3 million VND/tael in the past few days.

Gold price today decreased again

This is also the selling price of SJC gold bars at Sacombank, Eximbank, Vietcombank, BIDV , and PNJ company.

Meanwhile, Mi Hong company's selling price decreased more sharply, to 86 million VND/tael;ACB sold at 86.5 million VND/tael, while some other companies such as Bao Tin Minh Chau sold at a high level of 86.8 million VND/tael.

Along with gold bars, the price of gold rings and jewelry of all kinds also went down. Currently, the price of gold rings listed by businesses is about 84.6 million VND/tael for buying and 86.4 million VND/tael for selling, down 200,000 VND/tael compared to the end of last week.

The price of gold rings also varies between businesses. However, the supply of 99.99 gold rings on the market is not much.

Some gold shops in Ho Chi Minh City said they only sell all kinds of gold jewelry, not gold rings (including plain gold rings that the gold shops themselves process or gold rings from brands such as SJC, PNJ).

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 82.8 million VND/tael.

SJC gold bar prices have increased for many consecutive days, before falling again this morning.
