Dien Bien Phu Street extension project to Diem Van urban area: Expanding development space, creating new momentum for local socio-economy

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the morning of September 30, at the intersection with the new National Highway 19 (Quy Nhon Dong ward), the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held the inauguration ceremony of the Dien Bien Phu Road extension project to Diem Van urban area. This is a practical project to welcome the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; former comrades Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Chau Ngoc Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former comrades Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, former members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, former Standing members of the Provincial People's Council and Provincial People's Committee; comrades members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing members of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the National Assembly Delegation of the province; Representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities; a large number of people from Quy Nhon Dong ward and Tuy Phuoc commune.

According to the National Road Network Planning and Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the coastal road (DT.639) through Gia Lai province is about 121 km long; the scale of a class III road, from 2 to 4 lanes. The coastal road through the province is divided into 07 sections for investment in each phase; up to now, 03 sections (section from Lai Giang bridge to Thien Chanh bridge; Cat Tien section to My Thanh and Dien Bien Phu Road extension to Diem Van Urban Area) have been completed, ensuring quality and progress according to the plan.

In particular, the Dien Bien Phu Road Project extending to Diem Van Urban Area is one of the important segments of the Coastal Road through Gia Lai province. The route is 1.59km long, with the starting point adjacent to the new National Highway 19 (at Km6+734) and the end point intersecting with the inner ring road of Diem Van Urban Area (at Km1+592), passing through Quy Nhon Dong ward and Tuy Phuoc commune.

The project has a total investment of 519 billion, used from the provincial budget. The route is designed according to urban road standards, with a design speed of 50km/h, a roadbed width of 20.5m, a road surface with 4 lanes, a complete traffic safety system, lighting and tree planting to create beauty for the entire route.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "The project has been completed and put into operation, creating an important traffic route in the external traffic infrastructure system to serve the socio -economic development of the province. Quy Nhon Dong ward, Tuy Phuoc commune in particular and Gia Lai province in general. The investment in building this route helps people travel more conveniently, circulate goods, develop tourism , and gradually implement and complete the general planning for the construction of Quy Nhon city (old) and surrounding areas until 2035, with a vision to 2050."

Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh praised the sense of responsibility and efforts of the investor, relevant agencies and units in the province; thanked the close coordination of localities in compensation and site clearance to implement the project; acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of contractors to overcome difficulties and obstacles in the past time. In particular, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh sent his thanks to the households in the project area, especially the households whose land was completely cleared and had to be relocated to new places, for supporting the government in site clearance so that the project could be constructed on schedule.

In order for the project to promote investment efficiency, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested the investor, departments, branches, localities and road management units to perform well the management, maintenance and use of the project; complete investment settlement procedures and carry out project warranty work according to the provisions of law.

The Department of Construction, relevant departments, branches and local authorities urgently review the planning, update construction planning and other related planning, and implement projects according to the planning to maximize the efficiency of this route, contributing to realizing the goal of making our province a fairly developed province in the Central region.
