Over the past years, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) Dong Nai branch has always focused on lending activities, contributing to promoting sustainable rural economic development, steadfastly accompanying farmers and businesses on the journey of building a modern and integrated agriculture.
In the period of 2020-2025, Agribank Dong Nai branch maintained a stable credit growth rate. In 2020, outstanding loans reached more than 10.1 trillion VND, with over 38.1 thousand customers with outstanding loans. By August 2025, outstanding loans reached 14.1 trillion VND (an increase of about 40% compared to 2020), with 28.2 thousand customers with outstanding loans. Of which, outstanding loans for agriculture and rural areas accounted for about 78% of the branch's total outstanding loans. The highlight is that throughout the process of outstanding loan growth, the bad debt ratio has always remained within the allowable threshold, clearly demonstrating risk management capacity and capital efficiency.
Deputy Director of Agribank Dong Nai branch Tran Thi Hai Ha shared: The branch synchronously implements preferential credit policies, regardless of loan scale. From small farmers to high-tech agricultural enterprises, all have access to financial resources to expand production, improve life and build sustainable value chains. Many cooperatives are motivated to link up and reorganize production, contributing to promoting agricultural restructuring in the province.
Director of Anh Quynh Co., Ltd. (Gia Kiem commune, Dong Nai province) Pham Hong Duc said: “The company specializes in producing cashew nuts for export. Recently, through credit capital borrowed from Agribank Dong Nai branch, the company has invested in innovation, developing production lines, and improving product quality. The company hopes that the banking industry will continue to accompany businesses with loan programs with preferential interest rates and flexible loan procedures to promote sustainable and modern production in the future.”
According to the Social Policy Bank, Dong Nai province branch, the unit has implemented 19 policy credit programs with total outstanding loans to date reaching more than 11.6 trillion VND, with over 283,700 customers receiving loans.
Deputy Director of the Bank for Social Policies, Dong Nai Province Branch, Nguyen Sy Cuong, said: Regarding lending activities for agriculture and rural areas, the branch has implemented a lending program according to Decision No. 26/2025/QD-UBND dated March 19, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee stipulating the conditions, contents, and preferential loan levels to carry out a number of lending activities in the national target program in the province. Outstanding loans by September 2025 reached 74.2% of the assigned plan. The loan capital of this program focuses on households with average living standards, participating in the development of organic agriculture, high technology, traditional craft villages, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, and rural tourism development to borrow capital to develop production and business.
Promoting green credit programs, building new rural areas
Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Branch 2, Nguyen Duc Lenh, shared: The banking sector in Dong Nai province always focuses on expanding and effectively growing credit, credit for the new rural construction program, currently accounting for over 30% of the total outstanding credit in the area. This result not only contributes to the good implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction but also effectively implements the credit policy for agricultural and rural development in the province, while combining with the effective implementation of the National Target Program on hunger eradication and poverty reduction.
Bank credit capital plays an important role, contributing to creating conditions for organizing and implementing investment activities to develop infrastructure in rural areas, develop production, business and build new rural areas according to the set criteria and orientations, contributing significantly to the completion of the National Target Program on building new rural areas in the province for the period 2021-2025.

Ms. Tran Mac Van Anh, representative of Medifood.IO Company Limited (Nha Bich Commune, Dong Nai Province) shared: “The company is developing 4-star OCOP standard rice flakes products in a sustainable manner, focusing on improving the quality, nutritional value and brand of the products. Therefore, the company hopes to access loan packages with preferential interest rates to invest in developing new production technology, promptly accessing working capital, especially in export activities”.
Mr. Nguyen Sy Cuong added: In the coming time, the Social Policy Bank, Dong Nai province branch, will proactively contact the Department of Agriculture and Environment to have a list of households with average living standards, organizations, individuals, and households participating in the OCOP Program, developing traditional craft villages, developing organic agriculture, and applying high-tech agriculture in the province. From there, coordinate with local authorities to review loan needs. At the same time, the branch will synthesize capital needs and report to the Provincial People's Committee through the Department of Finance to balance loan disbursement in a timely manner to ensure the right subjects according to regulations.
In addition to credit programs for new rural construction, recently, credit institutions have also increased loan packages for agricultural production activities in the direction of applying high technology, promoting green credit... to meet the requirements for green growth and sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the province.
Ms. Tran Thi Hai Ha added: Agribank Dong Nai branch also promotes preferential credit packages in the livestock sector. Hundreds of businesses and livestock farms have received capital support to build barns, renovate infrastructure, apply waste treatment technology and modern livestock processes. In parallel with traditional credit tasks, the branch also promotes modern financial solutions, encourages green credit, supports clean and organic agricultural projects, and promotes the development of digital banking and cashless payments. This is a necessary step to connect farmers with digital technology trends, improve capital management efficiency, increase transparency and timeliness.
