Nguyen Van Cu Street is the busiest commercial street, located in the center of Vinh City. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vinh City and the 235th anniversary of Phuong Hoang Trung Do, the section of Nguyen Van Cu Street from Le Hong Phong Street to Nguyen Sy Sach Street, about 1.2 km long, has been renovated by Vinh City to create uniformity across the entire route. Up to now, the upgrading work on this street has entered the completion stage.
Present on Nguyen Van Cu street on the morning of September 22, the reporter recorded the busy working atmosphere of the construction units. At many sections of the road, the items and materials have been cleaned up, returning the road and sidewalks to a clear space. The shops on the street have a fairly large number of customers coming in and out after a period of being affected by the road construction process.
Mr. Dang, the construction supervisor on this route, said: The city's big holiday is approaching, so the workers are working day and night to complete the items. Last week there were some rainy days, which also affected the progress somewhat.
Currently, the main items of the road upgrading project have been completed. The construction unit has completed the road widening, curbing, and paving of sidewalks. On both sides of the road, rows of 235 rosewood trees have been planted and have begun to sprout. The underground connection has also been basically completed.
On the morning of September 22, the forces carried out the remaining two construction items. Including installing 72 lighting fixtures on the route, and installing 28 capacitors, then connecting the power lines to the houses and businesses. These capacitors replace about 100 old electric poles on the street, ensuring the safety and urban beauty of the entire route. After completing these two items, the functional forces will proceed to clean up to restore the entire surface of the route.
After 1 year of construction, the street is in the finishing stage, many sidewalk sections are clear with new brick floors and straight rows of green trees.
Ms. Thuy Linh, the owner of a fashion business on the route, said: During the road construction, due to the large amount of materials and the difficulty in traveling, the number of customers was also affected. During that time, we promoted online sales and shipping. Now the road is clear again, much more beautiful than before, hopefully attracting more customers for businesses like us.
Through discussion, the representative of Vinh City Project Management Board said: Currently, Nguyen Van Cu Street has completed the main items such as road expansion, curbing, paving, undergrounding, planting trees... The installation of lighting and connection of capacitors will also be completed in the next few days. After September 25, the construction will be temporarily suspended to serve the celebration. To date, the project progress has reached about 90%.
