Weather forecast September 22, 2024: Hanoi turns cool, North Central region has very heavy rain

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the early morning of September 22, the Northeast monsoon brought cold air to the Northeast region, then affected most of the Northwest region and some places in the North Central region. On September 22-23, the weather in the North and Thanh Hoa will turn cool, and some places in the mountainous areas of the North will be cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and Thanh Hoa will generally be from 20-23 degrees Celsius, and some places in the mountainous areas will be below 19 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi area from September 22-23, the weather will turn cool with the lowest temperature commonly 21-23 degrees.

At sea, from early morning on September 22, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind gradually increased to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8; rough seas; waves 2-3m high.

Regarding thunderstorms, from today until September 22, in the midlands, the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 40-70mm, locally over 100mm.

From now until September 23, in the North Central region and Quang Binh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 60-120mm, and in some places over 200mm.

In addition, from now until September 22, in the Central and South Central regions, the Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 80mm (rain concentrated in the evening and at night).

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
