Tourists sleep in tents, fish and feed fish on Phu Quoc beach

On April 30, Phu Quoc International Airport said that today there will be about 36 flights bringing passengers to Phu Quoc Island. Tomorrow, May 1, the unit expects to have about 39 flights bringing passengers to the island.

Ferries and speedboats from Rach Gia City and Ha Tien City to Phu Quoc City run about 50 trips per day to serve tourists to the island to enjoy the April 30 holiday.

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, many tourists in the West choose to go to Phu Quoc to "escape the sun" with family and friends. In particular, visitors love the tours that involve sleeping in tents, watching the sunset, fishing and feeding fish (called sea betta fish) on Phu Quoc beach.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Director of Tam Dang Khoa Canoe Company (An Thoi Ward) - said that in the days before the April 30 holiday, tourists seemed not to book canoe tours to visit 4 islands (Hon Gam Ghi, Oc Mong Tay, May Rut Trong and May Rut Ngoai) in An Thoi Ward.

Since April 27, domestic and foreign tourists have flocked to Phu Quoc.

"Yesterday we ran 22 canoe trips to take guests on a tour of 4 islands in Phu Quoc. Western tourists made up the majority. Guests really enjoyed swimming in the sea, swimming freely to see the coral and then feeding the betta fish. Guests swam close to the shore and were closely observed and instructed by staff to ensure safety," Mr. Tam emphasized.

"Tours that involve sleeping in tents and going fishing by boat are very popular with tourists. When catching fish, tourists will grill them themselves and eat them with their families. All tourists are very satisfied and happy with this tour," said Mr. Vu Van Hau - representative of Loi Dinh Phu Quoc Tourism Service Trading Company Limited, adding that on this tour, tourists are guaranteed safety, have life buoys, and have insurance for guests.

"Phu Quoc has beautiful sea and clear blue water this season. The 3-island tour I took today was a great experience. Swimming freely in the sea, watching coral and feeding fish was wonderful. I often hear about Phu Quoc being overcharged, but here I see the prices are clearly listed. Next time I have the chance, I will come back to Phu Quoc to visit", said Ms. Lam Thi Chan - a tourist from Soc Trang.

Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that today Kien Giang is expected to welcome nearly 68,300 visitors; 3,990 international visitors. Of which, Phu Quoc City is expected to welcome nearly 29,500 visitors; total tourism revenue is 102.3 billion VND.
