During the National Day holiday of September 2, the South of Phu Quoc Island is becoming a tourist hotspot with a bright atmosphere of flags and flowers at Hoang Hon Town with a large flag of over 500 square meters, the eye-catching "Kiss of the Sea" show with nightly fireworks and the bustling Vui Phet night market.

During the September 2nd holiday, Sunset Town and Sun World Hon Thom tourist area put on a new look for the big holiday. All the streets, squares, and famous check-in spots were filled with red flags with yellow stars, attracting tourists to check in, joining in the jubilant atmosphere to celebrate Vietnam National Day September 2nd.

The most prominent feature in Hoang Hon Town these days is the large Vietnamese flag of more than 500 square meters, solemnly hung in front of the outdoor theater with the world's largest water screen and capacity - Kiss of the Sea. The bright red flag fluttering in the middle of the sea square has moved thousands of visitors present, making them happy with national pride.

Notably, on September 2, 2025, hundreds of Sun Group staff members were present in front of the flag, holding a solemn flag-raising ceremony. At the same time, the large LED screen at Sun World Hon Thom broadcast live the A80 parade in Hanoi, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day. Many international visitors present expressed their impression and emotion with this scene.

“I was really surprised to see the image of the giant flag and thousands of flags decorated brightly everywhere. I was really touched by the love of Vietnamese people for the flag, more meaningfully, it is the intense patriotism”, shared by Anna Roberts, a tourist from England.

In many corners of the town, the tourist area prepared touchpoint activities such as painting conical hats with red flags and yellow stars, and writing down wishes from tourists. Many international visitors came here to paint conical hats, combine them into a map of Vietnam, and leave wishes for this important anniversary.

Every evening, Vui Phet night market is packed with tourists. Not only enjoying rich cuisine and shopping experiences, visitors can also immerse themselves in vibrant street performances, imbued with the atmosphere of island festivals.

Each booth here meticulously decorates the space as well as the dishes according to the A80 theme, as a way to spread love and pride about the big holiday with international friends.

​​Especially every night, the show Kiss of the Sea becomes a "magnet" attracting visitors from all directions. Besides the impressive performance technology of fire, water, laser, light, music... the show also "captures the hearts" of all visitors with the artistic fireworks display every night.

During the holiday season, before and during the show Kiss of the Sea, the nearly 1,000 square meter sea screen is changed to the red flag with yellow star, creating a unique check-in space that is "one of a kind".

Priya Sharma, a tourist from India, emotionally shared: “When the fireworks exploded brightly in the sky, everyone seemed to join in the joy of everyone. This is a memory that I will never forget.”
