Kinhtedothi - Hanoi Department of Tourism informed that in October 2024, the tourism industry welcomed 2.05 million visitors, an increase of 9.1% over the same period in 2023.
Of which, international tourists reached more than 553,000 arrivals, up 14.6% over the same period last year; domestic tourists reached 1.5 million arrivals, up 7.1% over the same period last year. Thus, in the first 10 months of 2024, the total number of tourists to Hanoi is estimated at 23.11 million arrivals, up 11.2% over the same period in 2023.
Of which, international tourists reached 4.95 million arrivals, an increase of 35.8% over the same period in 2023. Many international tourist markets have had strong growth such as Korea up 9.9%; China 70.5%; USA 21.6%; Japan 25.5%; UK 38.9%; France 51.5%; Germany 45.4%; Canada up 25.5%... Domestic tourists reached 18.16 million arrivals, an increase of 5.9% over the same period in 2023. Due to the high number of visitors, the tourism industry has earned 90,065 billion VND, an increase of 17.2% over the same period in 2023.
To attract visitors, in October, Hanoi's tourism industry launched many programs to stimulate domestic tourism. Specifically, "Cultural Festival for Peace " celebrates the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored as the City for Peace; organize the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024... At the same time, build a variety of communication forms on digital platforms, websites, and social networking platforms to create great influence and attract visitors to Hanoi.
Regarding the activities of Hanoi's tourism industry in the last months of 2024, Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said: the tourism industry will also focus on building a pilot model for developing agricultural and rural tourism economy associated with new rural construction in Hanoi in the period of 2022-2025.
Implement the Plan to build a community tourism model associated with practical experiences at craft villages and tourist destinations associated with traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities; build experiential tourism products associated with heritage values - relics at Ha Mo tourist destination, Dan Phuong district.
At the same time, strengthen communication, propaganda, and promotion of tourism images, destinations, and new tourism products of the capital on domestic media and television channels. Promote the application of digital address platforms in tourism activities; continue to digitize the digital information system on tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism service establishments, and Hanoi tourism market.
