Tourism launches early Tet tours, increases promotions to stimulate demand

On November 15, Vietravel Tourism Company announced the 2024 Spring promotion program with the message "Tet - Bringing thousands of joys".

Ms. Huynh Phan Phuong Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietravel Company, said that during the 2024 Tet holiday, the company is expected to serve more than 150,000 visitors, an increase of 15% compared to the 2019 Tet holiday period (before the COVID-19 pandemic).

Vietravel has launched approximately 100 domestic tourism products and approximately 200 international tourism products across markets during this year’s Tet holiday. The tour packages are focused on being renewed, from cultural and culinary experience tours in the North, Central and South to cherry blossom viewing routes in Japan, China, etc.

In the context of economic difficulties, price is one of the criteria that customers consider when buying Tet tours, so travel companies have focused on keeping prices stable or launching promotional programs to stimulate travel demand.

Many travel companies launch Tet tours early to meet tourists' needs for research and selection.

For example, Vietravel's Spring 2024 promotion program applies from November 15, 2023 to February 29, 2024 (for tours with departure dates from December 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024), the company offers a series of promotions and discounts.

Specifically, within 2 weeks from November 15, the sooner customers buy and pay for the tour, the higher the refund will be, up to 1.5 million VND. Customers who register for a tour in groups of 2-5 people, 6-9 people or 10 people or more and pay 100% of the tour price within the program's specified time will receive a group discount of up to 800,000 VND/person.

"Vietravel also builds suitable tours and has a policy of discounting family group tours to encourage overseas Vietnamese to return home to celebrate Tet and enjoy the spring atmosphere at the beginning of the year," said Ms. Phuong Hoang.

According to the Lao Dong Newspaper, at this time, a series of other travel companies such as Saigontourist Travel, Vietluxtour, TSTtourist, Vinagroup... have also launched early Tet tour sales programs.

As early as October 2023, Saigontourist Travel Service Company has launched early Lunar New Year - Giap Thin 2024 tour programs with early group tour purchase incentives of up to 10 million VND/person discount and an additional 2 million VND discount for groups of 4 people.

Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Director of Communications and Marketing - Saigontourist Travel Service Company, said that many tourists have planned early and chosen tour itineraries and departures that suit their family's needs. On the occasion of Tet 2024 this year, Saigontourist Travel surveyed more than 500,000 customers on tours and at more than 20 events and tourism fairs at home and abroad to help businesses better understand market demand.

"The top concerns of tourists are service quality, tour schedules and tour prices. With the economic difficulties, the market will be divided, so businesses must also proactively respond to tourists' needs," Ms. Thanh Tra emphasized.
