In the minds of Vietnamese people for generations, visiting temples and pagodas at the beginning of the year is a beautiful traditional cultural feature to commemorate the great contributions of ancestors and pray for peace and prosperity in the new year. In Thai Binh, the special national relic of the tombs and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings, Tien Duc commune (Hung Ha) is a destination for local people and tourists from all over. In the atmosphere of the first days of spring, the story of the Tran Dynasty kings at the special national relic is like an invisible thread connecting the past with the present, so that everyone can understand and be proud of the heroic history of the nation.

The Tran Temple Festival in 2024 will take place at the special national relic site of the tombs and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings, Tien Duc commune (Hung Ha).

Among the feudal dynasties of Vietnam, the Tran Dynasty was known as a prosperous dynasty, good at socio-economic development, a martial dynasty with outstanding military art and glorious victories in defeating the Yuan-Mongol invaders three times. After the successful resistance wars against the invaders, the Tran Kings often sailed to the Ngu wharf and offered their glorious victories to their ancestors. The Tran Kings often held ceremonies at Thai Duong village (now Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district) in early spring. This ceremony reflects the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people and reflects the traditional cultural beliefs of the Vietnamese people that have been concretized through the forms of practice in religious activities - festivals that are highly emphasized. After more than 7 centuries, today the traditional festival commemorating the Tran Kings is still maintained annually with solemn ceremonies. Looking forward to this year's traditional festival, right from the first days of spring, many local people and tourists from all over have visited Tran Temple.

As one of the visitors who came to offer incense to commemorate the Tran Dynasty kings and enjoy the scenery on the first day of the new year at the special national relic, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Mai, a member of the Han Nom and calligraphy Club of Thai Binh, could not help but be moved and emotional. She was one of the four club members who directly performed two immortal verses of King Tran Nhan Tong: "Xa tac luong hoi lao thach ma/Son ha thien co dien kim au" (The country has twice been on the stone horse/The mountains and rivers have been firmly established for thousands of years) on the opening night of the Tran Temple Festival in 2023.

Ms. Mai shared: Having researched and been involved in the art of calligraphy for nearly 10 years now, an unforgettable memory for me is being able to perform two immortal verses in the sacred space of the opening night of the Tran Temple Festival in 2023. Following that success, the club members have devoted a lot of effort to building a program of exchange between calligraphy clubs and giving calligraphy at the King's temple yard on the day of the Tran Temple Festival in 2024. Hopefully, this will be one of the unique cultural activities, a memorable memory for visitors when coming to the Tran Temple Festival this year.

In preparation for the exhibition of paintings and art photos taking place within the framework of the Tran Temple Festival in 2024, photographer Nguyen Phuc Anh, Head of the Photography Association, Thai Binh Literature and Arts Association, spent a lot of time capturing beautiful moments at Tran Temple in the early days of spring. He shared: There will be many excellent photographic works by Thai Binh artists on display throughout the Tran Temple Festival in 2024. With pride and a desire to promote the beauty of the homeland to domestic and international friends through works of art, I and the artists in the Association strive to create with a unique and creative perspective, expressing the wish for a prosperous and favorable new year.

In the early days of the new spring, at the Tran Temple grounds, preparations for the traditional festival from January 13 to 17 are taking place urgently. In particular, the semi-real stage of the festival opening is being urgently built, attracting the attention of tourists when coming here. Ms. Pham Thi Tuyen, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: We really want to come back here every year to visit the relic because Tran Temple is a sacred place and a famous place in the country. The relic management board is very dedicated to guiding tourists, we offer offerings to the Tran kings and spend a lot of time visiting and recording beautiful images.

With the tradition of "Drinking water, remember the source", the people of Tam Duong in particular, and Thai Binh province in general, have preserved the relics throughout the history of more than 700 years. Not only during spring trips and traditional festivals, the National Monument, especially the tombs and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings, is always an important destination on the journey for today's generations to better understand the heroic spirit of Dong A, of a dynasty that was one of the most powerful in the history of the nation, thereby contributing to strongly promoting the value of cultural heritage and promoting local socio-economic development.
