Tra Doc is a mountainous commune with many difficulties in Da Nang city. To create opportunities for local workers to access domestic and foreign employment opportunities, Da Nang City Employment Service Center has coordinated with the locality to organize a direct job fair here, attracting a large number of ethnic minority youth to participate.
When information about the job fair was announced through the loudspeaker system of Tra Doc commune, Mr. Dinh Van Dien, a young Ca Dong man in village 3 (Tra Doc commune) was present very early. Having graduated from high school but not having a stable job, Mr. Dien used to work as a seasonal worker in many places with an unstable income.
He said: "In the mountains, the work depends on the employer and the weather. In the dry season, you can still work for hire, clear fields, or exploit acacia trees, but in the rainy season, you can only sit around and do nothing. I hope to find a job that suits me at this job fair." In the same situation as Mr. Dien, Mr. Dinh Van Son from village 7 (Tra Doc commune) also came to the fair hoping to find a job suitable for unskilled labor.
The job fair in Tra Doc attracted dozens of businesses and recruitment units to participate. The units and businesses offered a variety of job positions, from general labor in the garment, seafood processing, construction industries to technical labor in the fields of electronics, mechanics, and services. In addition, some companies also introduced programs to send workers to work in Japan, Korea and some other Asian markets.
According to the Da Nang City Employment Service Center, the current recruitment needs are very large and diverse.
Mr. Huynh Cong Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Employment Service Center, said: "Up to now, the center has organized 5 job fairs in mountainous communes in the city, with more than 3,000 labor needs to work abroad and more than 6,000 labor needs to work domestically.
These figures show a picture of a wide-open labor market for workers. The center will work with units and businesses to bring job opportunities closer to workers in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas, creating opportunities for workers to access official information, receive career orientation and receive dedicated advice."
