57 years ago, the Hoa Loc Commune Women's Militia Platoon was established in June 1967, consisting of 14 female militiamen in their twenties, fighting at the Dong Ngan battlefield. This was the first guerrilla militia unit in the country to shoot down enemy aircraft with infantry guns, and received a letter of praise from Uncle Ho. The Party and State awarded them the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, along with many other noble awards.
The Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site and Hoa Loc Girls' Militia Platoon Monument (Hau Loc) project started construction in May 2023.
In 1991, Dong Ngan Battlefield in Hoa Loc Historical and Cultural Relic Complex, Hoa Loc Commune, Hau Loc District was ranked as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
The Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site and Hoa Loc Girls' Militia Platoon Monument Project (Hau Loc) was started in May 2023, invested by Hau Loc District People's Committee and directly implemented by Hau Loc District Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The project aims to pay tribute and honor the glorious feat of the heroic girls' militia platoon of Hoa Loc commune; to build the monument into a red address for educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation and all classes of people.
Hau Loc District People's Committee directed the contractor to speed up the project implementation progress.
Currently, the green tree system and management house, reception, exhibition... The project of the Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site and the Hoa Loc Girls' Militia Platoon Monument has been basically completed.
The Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site and Hoa Loc Women's Militia Platoon Monument Project was built in Hoa Loc commune on an area of 1.51 hectares, with a total investment of 74 billion 968 million VND. Of which, the provincial budget is 37 billion VND, Hau Loc district budget is 10 billion VND; socialized capital and other legally mobilized sources are more than 27 billion VND.
The project consists of 4 main areas: Foreign affairs area (including 2 parking lots); Dong Ngan battlefield model reproduction area: located at the original location - high mound area. This area keeps the original state to retain the location of the historical battles. Arrange combat fortifications, resting huts, concrete walkways imitating soil... Monument area, including monument and ceremonial yard; experience yard (central sacred path and two side yards, concrete yard imitating soil behind the monument, garden...). Area to support the promotion of the value of the relic includes: main gate, monument introduction sign, management house, reception, exhibition, public toilet, side gate, trellis, garden...

At the construction site of the Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site Project and Hoa Loc Women's Militia Platoon Monument, Tiep Nam Giang Investment, Trade and Construction Joint Stock Company mobilized human resources and means, overcame difficulties, and took advantage of favorable times to urgently speed up the project's construction progress.
The Dong Ngan Battlefield Historical Site and Hoa Loc Women's Militia Platoon Monument project was built in Hoa Loc commune on an area of 1.51 hectares.
Identifying this as a key project of Hau Loc district, Hau Loc district's Construction Investment Project Management Board has coordinated with the locality to do a good job of mobilizing people's consensus and support, completing site clearance early, creating favorable conditions for the construction unit to perform its tasks. Increasing staff and engineers to the construction site to direct and supervise the technique and quality of each project item; coordinating with functional departments and contractors, regularly holding meetings to resolve difficulties during the implementation process, urging contractors to speed up the project's construction progress.
At the project construction site, the contractor has basically completed the electrical system; management house, reception, exhibition, restroom, green tree system... For the art part, the monument design by the Monument Restoration and Landscape Architecture Joint Stock Company has completed casting the statue in clay and is completing casting the negative, positive, and composite materials.
As of May 18, 2024, the two contractors had completed nearly 75% of the total project volume. The work of Tiep Nam Giang Investment, Trade and Construction Joint Stock Company has basically completed the assigned work. The contractor has launched a competition, arranged suitable field work shifts, overcome difficulties caused by hot weather, urgently completed the project, and strived to complete the entire project by the end of August 2024 (3 months ahead of schedule) and put it into use.
