The ceremony was held in a combination of live and online formats, connecting from the main bridge at the Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon City) to 135 bridge points in communes and wards in Gia Lai province (new). The event attracted the attention and follow-up of many officials, party members and people from all walks of life, in a joyful atmosphere, with expectations for a new development stage of the locality after the merger.

Sharing her feelings at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi My Trinh (Chu Pah commune) expressed: “As a party member, I am very excited and honored to attend the ceremony to announce important resolutions and decisions on merging administrative units and implementing the 2-level local government model. This is truly a historic turning point. I believe that under the leadership of the new Party Committee and government, Gia Lai province will develop more and more.”
Sharing the joy, Mr. Rmah Ný (Ia Pa commune) expressed: “Today is a great day when Ia Pa commune was officially established. I myself am very excited and will actively mobilize people to unite and join hands to build a new commune that is increasingly developed and civilized.”
Implementing the Central Government's policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus, eliminating the district level and deploying a 2-level local government model (province and commune), Gia Lai province has rearranged 218 commune-level administrative units, down to 77 units.
After the announcement of resolutions and decisions at the ceremony, the Party organizations, People's Councils, People's Committees and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels were officially launched, demonstrating the high determination of the staff and civil servants in carrying out new tasks. Mr. Tran Trung Dong - Deputy Head of the Economic - Social Committee of the People's Council of Chu Pah commune - shared: "This is a historic moment, an important milestone for the country to enter a new era. As a cadre of Chu Pah commune under the new Gia Lai province, I pledge to devote all my heart to completing all assigned tasks."

In Pleiku ward, Ms. Vu Thi Lien - Deputy Chief of the Party Committee Office - also expressed her confidence and expectation: "We are ready to take on the task with the highest sense of responsibility. Hopefully, in the coming time, leaders at all levels will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions in terms of facilities and legal documents so that the staff and civil servants can work with peace of mind and serve the people better."
According to the plan, from July 1, the new Gia Lai province and 135 commune-level administrative units will officially come into operation. Preparations for the two-level local government apparatus have been carried out seriously over the past time. Mr. Dang Toan Thang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Pleiku Ward, said: "We have completed preparations in terms of facilities, human resources and administrative systems, ensuring the smooth operation of the two-level government. The public administration center and legal system are ready to serve the people from July 1."
Similarly, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chu Pah Commune - affirmed: "Chu Pah Commune has completed all preparations, from infrastructure, equipment to human resources. Up to this point, we can say we are ready for the official operation day."

The newly established Gia Lai province is a harmonious crystallization of the potential of the highlands and the advantages of the coastal region. A wide and dynamic development space is gradually taking shape. With the determination of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, Gia Lai province promises to grow strongly, becoming a new growth pole of the Central Highlands and the whole country.
