Rice price today August 28: Rice slightly decreased, paddy and by-products stable

On the morning of August 28, the domestic rice market recorded a decrease of 100 - 200 VND/kg for some types, while transactions remained quiet and the amount of goods arriving was low.

The domestic rice market this morning recorded a decrease of 100-200 VND/kg for some types of rice. Trading is still slow, with few arrivals.

In An Giang , the price of CL 555 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,500 - 7,700 VND/kg, down 100 VND. OM 5451 decreased by 200 VND, to 7,500 - 7,700 VND/kg. OM 380 remained at 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg, OM 18 at 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg. Finished rice IR 504 was at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

At the retail market, prices remain unchanged: Nang Nhen rice is 28,000 VND/kg, Huong Lai is 22,000 VND/kg, regular rice is 13,000 - 14,000 VND/kg, long grain Thai fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta

Fresh rice prices are stable compared to the weekend. OM 5451 fluctuates at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg, OM 18 around 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, Dai Thom 8 at 6,100 - 6,200 VND/kg, IR 50404 around 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg.

In An Giang and Dong Thap, new transactions are slow, traders buy little, rice prices remain stable. In Ca Mau , ST rice fluctuates slightly, other types remain stable in price. In Tay Ninh and Can Tho, the amount of rice at the end of the crop is small, transactions are sparse, prices are stable.

By-product price

By-products today range from 7,200 - 9,000 VND/kg. OM 5451 broken rice decreased slightly by 50 VND, to 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg. Dry bran remained at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg. Rice husks ranged from 1,400 - 1,500 VND/kg.

Export rice price

Vietnam's rice export prices decreased compared to the weekend. 5% broken rice was at 389 USD/ton, down 10 USD. 25% broken rice was at 367 USD/ton, down 1 USD. 100% broken rice fell 7 USD to 333 USD/ton.

Regionally, Pakistan's 5% broken rice fell by USD 2 to USD 353 per ton, Thailand's remained at USD 354 per ton and India's was stable at USD 376 per ton.
