SJC gold bar price hits new peak

On the morning of August 21, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by gold companies SJC, PNJ, DOJI at 124.4 million VND/tael for buying, 125.4 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 600,000 VND per tael compared to yesterday.

SJC gold bar price exceeds 126 million VND/tael

After a day of decline, the price of SJC gold bars quickly skyrocketed again and set a new peak.

Notably, businesses continued to maintain a buying-selling price difference of only VND1 million, much lower than the difference of VND2-3 million/tael in the previous period. This development reflects that businesses accept lower profit margins to stimulate customers to resell gold.

In the free market, the price of SJC gold bars was also pushed by some small shops to exceed 126 million VND/tael, trading around 125.4 million VND/tael for buying, 126.3 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 600,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday and is nearly 1 million VND higher than the price of SJC gold bars at gold companies.

Gold shops also narrowed the buying and selling price range to only 900,000 VND.

With 99.99% gold rings and jewelry, businesses traded around 117.3 million VND/tael for buying and 119.8 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 400,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday, a slower increase than gold bars.

SJC gold bar price separates from world price

Domestic gold prices continue to rise, surpassing old peaks following the recovery of world prices. However, the faster increase in domestic gold prices has caused the gap to widen.

In the international market, the price of gold today is trading at 3,342 USD/ounce, up about 30 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. The increase in the price of gold is being driven by the US stock market sell-off, causing investors to seek safe assets such as gold. The cooling of the USD also supports the increase in the price of gold.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 107 million VND/tael, nearly 13 million VND lower than gold rings and more than 18 million VND lower than SJC gold bars.
