National Table Tennis Tournament for Strong Teams 2025: Fierce race to find a place at SEA Games 33

Nguyen Anh Tu is the reigning men's champion.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Strong Teams took place on the evening of September 21, marking the beginning of more than a week of exciting competition from September 19-28 at Vinh Phuc Gymnasium, Vinh Yen City, Phu Tho Province.

The tournament, organized by the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho, gathered top players to compete in 7 categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team and women's team.

Many prominent faces of Vietnamese table tennis in recent years such as Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Doan Ba Tuan Anh, Le Dinh Duc are all present, promising tense and dramatic matches.

In particular, two tennis players Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (HCMC) and Nguyen Anh Tu ( Hanoi ) have just returned from a professional tournament in Kazakhstan, ready to defend their championship titles.

Last season, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh beat Tran Mai Ngoc (T&T People's Police) to win the women's singles gold medal, while Nguyen Anh Tu defeated Nguyen Duc Tuan in the men's singles.

The men's and women's team finals will take place at 2:00 p.m. on September 23, the men's and women's doubles finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. on September 25, while the men's and women's singles finals and the closing ceremony will take place on September 28.

According to the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, the tournament is an opportunity to evaluate and select promising players, preparing the Vietnamese table tennis force before the 33rd SEA Games. After this tournament, the Vietnamese table tennis team participating in the Games in Thailand will be officially established.
