Mai Vang Award 2025, more opportunities for artists

The 2025 Mai Vang Award continues to reflect the cultural and artistic life of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general, with many important innovations.

According to the organizers, unlike previous years, the 2025 Mai Vang Award has 16 official categories - additional and separate categories, along with many special awards.

Specifically, in the music field, there will be two separate categories: Most Favorite Song and Most Favorite MV (music video). This adjustment, according to the organizers, is to evaluate more fairly, because songs and MVs are two independent creative forms, although related but not identical. Next, is the return of the Most Favorite Music Group category when the activities of music groups in the past year were much more exciting.

In the field of theater, the category of Most Favorite Plays/Political Art Programs will be added. This is a new category to encourage readers to nominate and vote for theatrical works and art programs that have ideological value, praise history and evoke national pride. The reason for increasing this category is because in 2025 there will be many important events of the country - major holidays in which the theater field has had many excellent works and political programs, promoting patriotism, and actively spreading the spirit of joining hands to build the country in the era of national growth. Thus, this year, the theater field has 5 categories (Most Favorite Stage Actor, Most Favorite Stage Actress, Most Favorite Comedian, Most Favorite Stage Play and Most Favorite Political Art Play and Program).

Accordingly, the Mai Vang Awards 2025 will have 16 categories spread across 4 fields: music, stage, cinema - television and program.

In addition, the organizing committee also maintains special awards: Lifetime Artist for the Community, Artist for the Community in 2025, Outstanding Cultural and Artistic Works in 2025 (literature, fine arts, photography) and adds the award "Art Program Contributing to Honoring Vietnamese Cultural Identity" to honor programs that contribute to preserving and developing national cultural identity.

The nomination round takes place from now until November 25, 2025; the voting round from December 10, 2025 to January 22, 2026. The audience can participate in the nomination via the electronic newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong (nld.com.vn), the website Mai Vang (maivang.nld.com.vn) or the Facebook Mai Vang connection.
