Cultural exchange "Continuing the story of peace"

On April 30, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) in collaboration with the Peace Ship Organization and two Nobel Peace Prize-winning organizations - the Nihon Hidankyo Federation and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) organized the exchange program "Continuing the Peace Story". The program was held on the Pacific World ship (Japan) docked at Ha Long International Passenger Port this morning.

In his welcome speech, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Ngoc Hung emphasized the historical significance of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30 (1975 - 2025). According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, this is a reminder of the resilient history of the Vietnamese people and a tribute to the valuable support from international friends. Reviewing Vietnam's outstanding achievements from the renovation process, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung stated: Vietnam is increasingly affirming its position as a trustworthy and responsible member of the international community.

During the exchange program, domestic and international peace experts shared their views, perspectives, understanding of the pain of war and lessons learned from their work for peace, towards a nuclear-free world , promoting global understanding and cooperation; and at the same time sending a message of solidarity and continued efforts to preserve peace to the younger generation.

On this occasion, the delegation of experts also visited the Museum to learn about the history, culture and people of Quang Ninh.

The 2025 voyage departs from Yokohama (Japan) and Ha Long (Vietnam) is the fourth destination. The ship's arrival at the port coincides with the anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day - a major historical milestone, symbolizing the Vietnamese people's aspiration for peace - creating a favorable opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen international cooperation, promote foreign information and people's diplomacy; promote the image of the country and people of Quang Ninh, Vietnam, which love peace, are friendly, hospitable and spread the message of peace, cooperation and development.
