In the past 3 years, in the central area of ​​Thai Nguyen province, gyms have sprung up like mushrooms after the rain. In Phan Dinh Phung ward alone, there are nearly 100 large and small gyms, with investment capital ranging from less than 1 billion to more than 2 billion VND. At the gyms, the number of people who regularly come to practice are mostly young people (from 70 to 80%) such as students, pupils...

Thanks to diligently practicing Gym, many people have improved their health and become more beautiful in shape. For example, Ms. Khanh Ly, 30 years old, Phan Dinh Phung ward. Once self-conscious about her disproportionate body, "fat" waist, too small butt, Ms. Ly was determined to go to the Gym. Boldly paying a large amount of money to have a 1-on-1 trainer, after only half a year, Ms. Ly's figure has changed dramatically.

Mr. Tran Quang Tung, manager of the Gym at 99 Bac Kan Street (Dragon Gym Fitness) - the person who directly created the menu and training plan for Ms. Ly shared: In 6 months, Ms. Ly only lost 2kg but her muscle mass increased, her fat mass decreased, her BMI (body mass index) returned to a "nice" number when the fat ratio decreased from 28 to 23%. Not only Ms. Ly, thanks to Gym, many young people have also changed their body shape very dramatically. Nguyen Thanh Tra, 28 years old, is doing business on Phan Dinh Phung street, boasted: Thanks to Gym, I have lost 10kg. Since successfully upgrading my "body", I have easily conquered all kinds of "picky" outfits.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, 32 years old, in group 20, Phan Dinh Phung ward, said: My business is quite busy and stressful. Therefore, I go to the gym not only to exercise, improve my body shape, improve my health but also to relieve stress and fatigue.

But not easy to maintain

The effectiveness of sports in general and Gym in particular are proven by “real people, real events”. But maintaining a scientific and regular diet and exercise is not easy.

Mr. Tran Quang Tung said: I started practicing Gym when I was 15 years old and have maintained it for nearly 14 years now. From my passion for this subject, after graduating from the University of Theatre and Cinema, I participated in training courses and then became a professional trainer. After many years of experience, I have been chosen by many Gyms as a manager.

During the training and management process at many gyms, I realized that pursuing this sport is not easy. There are people who only go to the gym for 1 session and then "disappear"; many people initially come to the gym with "explosive" enthusiasm but only maintain it for a few weeks and then do not come again. In particular, there are cases where people spend tens of millions of dong to hire a 1-on-1 trainer, get the desired results but then stop practicing and gain weight again.

Mr. Tung's sharing is very well-founded when the number of people practicing and then leaving this sport is quite large. For example, Ms. Ha Minh Thu, 28 years old, is an office worker at a company in Phan Dinh Phung ward. After giving birth to her first child, Ms. Thu gained nearly 20kg. Going to the gym, she regained her youthful figure but did not have enough perseverance to pursue it long-term.

Ms. Ha Minh Thu shared: Every training session is very stressful. Moreover, eating must always be maintained with protein-rich foods such as chicken breast, salmon, beef, etc. Meanwhile, I am "addicted" to starch such as potatoes, cassava, rice, fried cakes, pho, vermicelli, etc. Therefore, I can only "bear" myself for a while and then I can no longer maintain training sessions and healthy meals.

Building healthy habits

At Dragon Gym Fitness, there are about 180 students regularly practicing. With an investment of about 2 billion VND and operating since 2017, the gym is still retaining its "loyal" students. Mr. Nguyen Bao Ngoc, who lives near the gym, is an example. With the goal of improving his health, Mr. Ngoc has been following this gym for 8 years. Maintaining a healthy exercise habit has given him the motivation to come here every day.

According to the active students, just maintaining 3 sessions/week at the gym is a success. Thanks to maintaining the habit and having a good foundation, Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, 26 years old, has transformed from a gym enthusiast to a trainer trusted by many students. He is currently working at the gym at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Sports Stadium.

He believes that every trainer must be a “spiritual medicine”, accompanying and helping students to be interested in maintaining their training sessions. To do this, trainers must constantly learn and improve their knowledge about nutrition and lectures.

Mr. Huy shared: I started studying to become a coach of this subject in 2019 and completed it in 2020. To further improve my professional level, I do not hesitate to spend time and money to attend courses taught by Mr. Ly Duc (Vietnam's No. 1 bodybuilder in the 90s). Every month, I still attend advanced courses.

Perhaps, thanks to his passion, perseverance and providing exercises suitable for each student, Mr. Huy has become the number 1 choice of many people when they need 1-on-1 Gym training. However, in addition to the capacity and qualifications of the trainers, investing in facilities such as exercise machines, exercise tools, gym space, regular machine maintenance... is also a big plus to attract students to the Gym.

Mr. Tran Quang Tung said: The "pikleball" storm has "swept" many students of the gym to a new, vibrant sport. But it is the careful investment in facilities and active communication that has helped to attract students back to the gym...
