Hanoi: Timely rescue of 2 children trapped in house fire

Fire prevention, firefighting and rescue police have rescued 3 people, including 2 children aged 3 and 6 years old in a house fire in Ha Dong ward (Hanoi).

At around 10:10 p.m. on September 15, a fire broke out at a house on Nguyen Viet Xuan Street (Ha Dong Ward).

Upon receiving the news, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center dispatched Fire Fighting and Rescue Teams No. 4 and No. 15 of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department with 4 fire trucks and 24 officers and soldiers to the scene.

At the same time, the leaders of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department mobilized 2 command vehicles, 1 truck carrying special vehicles and went directly to the scene to command the fire fighting and rescue work.

As soon as arriving at the scene, through reconnaissance information, it was determined that the fire was developing strongly in the front area of ​​the first floor of the 4-storey house (the house area is about 40m2, tubular, narrow facade) with a lot of smoke and toxic gas covering the first floor and spreading to the floors, rooms along the stairs inside the house and there were people trapped in the fire, the fire commander quickly directed a reconnaissance team to break the rolling door in front of the house, carrying personal protective equipment, breathing apparatus to move to the upper floors to search, rescue, and rescue people still trapped in the fire and a team deployed a fire fighting formation in the first floor area to prevent the fire from spreading to the upper floors of the house and 2 adjacent houses.

After a period of firefighting and search and rescue efforts, at 10:25 p.m., the authorities controlled and promptly approached and rescued 3 victims, the wife and 2 children (born in 2019 and 2022) of the homeowner who were trapped in a room inside the 2nd floor of the house, down the stairs to a safe area, and handed them over to the medical team to take them to the emergency room (the health of the 3 victims was stable). At about 10:30 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under further investigation.
