Notably, heavy rains have caused widespread flooding. Currently, workers of the Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company are still on duty, solving drainage problems, scooping up trash at the water intake, and clearing the flow to quickly drain flooded areas.

According to records at 11:00 a.m., there were still many points on the streets deeply flooded, with difficult traffic such as: Huynh Thuc Khang (Nguyen Hong 3-way intersection - Huynh Thuc Khang alley 14), Thanh Cong (in front of the Ward People's Committee), Thai Ha; My Dinh - Thien Hien 3-way intersection, Le Duc Tho (My Dinh Stadium square), Phu Xa (Phu Xa - Phuc Hoa 3-way intersection), Duong Dinh Nghe - Nam Trung Yen (behind KeangNam), Vo Chi Cong (UDIC Building), Hoang Quoc Viet (Electricity University), Phan Van Truong (market gate - military barracks), Hoa Bang (alley 99), Tran Cung (A38 gas station), Tran Binh (Mai Dich Ward People's Committee to 19/8 Hospital), Do Duc Duc (road to Dam Temple);...

Along with that, points such as: Nguyen Trai Street (section of University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Quan Nhan, Quang Trung (in front of Nguyen Hue High School), Quang Trung (opposite La Khe station), Yen Nghia (from Yen Nghia bus station to Ba La intersection), Pho Xom - section opposite Hai Phat building, Le Loi - Tran Hung Dao (area around Ha Dong market), Quyet Thang, To Hieu (HUD3 building), Thang Long Avenue, Nguyen Xien, Yen Xa, Trieu Khuc, Ngoc Lam Street (from Long Bien 1 intersection to Gia Lam Urban Environment Enterprise), Duc Giang (from Duc Hoa market to alley 97), under the train underpass on Thien Duc street... were also deeply submerged in water, paralyzing traffic.

According to Mr. Trinh Ngoc Son, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company, the slow drainage points causing flooding are due to the fact that the water level in the system has not been brought back to a safe level (especially the high water level of Nhue River) due to the impact of storm No. 10, combined with the heavy, continuous rain in a short period of time of storm No. 11 (storm on storm). In that situation, the company is urgently arranging forces and equipment to be on standby at key points to handle flooding; at the same time, operating at maximum capacity the key pumping stations on the system such as: Yen So pumping station (operating 20/20 pumps), Cau Buu pumping station, Dong Bong 1, 2 pumping stations, Co Nhue pumping station, Da Sy pumping station... to lower the water level in the drainage system.

At the same time, the company also deployed on-duty work, solved drainage, collected garbage at the collection station in the entire management area, opened the sluice gates of the regulating lakes and operated the pumping stations at maximum capacity to lower the water level in the system according to regulations. Currently, there is still heavy rain in the city. According to the forecast of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, the convective cloud area continues to develop, moving, causing showers and thunderstorms. The company continues to closely monitor weather developments, arranges forces to continue on-duty, operate the main pumping stations according to the process to lower the water level of the system, clean and ensure the flow, to drain water in time to limit flooding.

According to the reporter's records, at 12 o'clock, the rain was still pouring, the "navel" of flooding such as Ecohome 1 Apartment, Ecohome 3, Resco urban area, roads such as Ke Ve; Dong Thang;... located in Dong Ngac ward (Hanoi) were still covered with water. In this area, many cars were flooded. Similarly, on the internal roads of IA20 apartment complex, Sunshine and Ciputra urban area... located in Phu Thuong ward (Hanoi), the water was also up to the wheels, making it very difficult for vehicles to move through this area. Mr. Do Thanh Binh (Ecohome 3 resident) shared: The internal roads to buildings N02, N03 are flooded every time it rains, greatly affecting the lives and businesses of the people. He hopes that the authorities will soon intervene to resolve the flooding situation, to stabilize people's lives.

Accordingly, to minimize flooding in the Ke Ve street area, Resco urban area, Ciputra urban area, diplomatic area... The Department of Construction has directed the connection of drainage lines to divert the flow from the Nhue river basin (through the overloaded Co Nhue pumping station) to the To Lich river through the Nghia Do regulating gate by connecting: Section 1, connecting 2 existing D600-800 sewer lines at the intersection of Xuan Tao street and DT4 road (Tay Ho Tay urban area), to increase the drainage capacity of the urban area to the Nghia Do canal, to the To Lich river, the total length of the connecting sewer line is L = 40m.

Section 2, connecting BxH sewer line (1.5mx1.5m) of DT4 road (Tay Ho Tay urban area adjacent to Vo Chi Cong road) to Xuan La - Nghia Do canal sewer line, the length of the connecting sewer line L=10m to increase the drainage capacity of the urban area to Nghia Do canal sewer, to To Lich river; at the same time, dig and open 90m wide, 2.5m wide, 2-2.5m deep to connect Thuy Phuong canal with Nong Lam canal sewer to reduce for Resco urban area. Currently, the Department of Construction is continuing to direct research to renovate Thuy Phuong canal, install more field and mobile pumping stations to ensure drainage for the area.

According to the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, the convective cloud area continues to develop and move, causing showers and thunderstorms across the city. Notably, during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, causing trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure, endangering human lives. There is a high risk of flooding on streets and low-lying areas. Therefore, people should limit going out if not necessary, and at the same time, proactively take preventive measures to avoid damage caused by natural disasters.
