Ha Tinh urgently reinforces coastal tourist area destroyed by waves

The recent storm No. 10 caused dozens of villas located near the sea at Hoa Tien Xuan Thanh tourist area, Xuan Thanh commune, Ha Tinh province, to collapse and be severely damaged. Immediately after the storm, the investor and residents mobilized human resources and machinery to build temporary sand embankments, reinforce the foundation, and make initial repairs to ensure safety.

Storm No. 10 made landfall in Ha Tinh with strong intensity, big waves at the time of high tide, causing serious erosion of the coastal area at Hoa Tien Xuan Thanh Tourist Area. A series of coastal villas had exposed roofs and collapsed foundations, of which 6 completely collapsed, 14 others were severely damaged.

Mr. Tran Van Bao, a resident from Hanoi , said that his villa is located right next to the sea but fortunately has not been affected much. However, to prevent the risk of collapse, he and other households are proactively reinforcing the foundation.

“The temporary solution is to build a dike, pour sand and reinforce the foundation. Most of the villas next door have open roofs. Luckily, mine has not collapsed yet, but I am very worried,” Mr. Bao shared.

Unable to hide her worries, Ms. Phan Thi Thao Lam ( Nghe An province) hopes that the investor will soon deploy a solid embankment system so that she can live, produce and do business in peace for the long term.

In recent days, Hong Lam Xuan Thanh Joint Stock Company - the project investor - has hired hundreds of workers and machines to build temporary embankments and reinforce them with thousands of sandbags in front of the damaged villas to prevent wave erosion.

Mr. Tran Van Cu, Head of the Project Management Board (Hong Lam Xuan Thanh Joint Stock Company) said: "We have urgently built a temporary embankment while waiting for the construction of a new, more solid embankment. The investor has also held a meeting with residents to share the damage and together find the earliest solution."

According to Mr. Vo Hoang Hiep, Deputy Head of Housing Management Department, Ha Tinh Province Department of Construction, the relevant authorities are coordinating to inspect and assess the extent and cause of the damage. At the same time, they are instructing investors and residents to implement measures to ensure long-term safety for coastal tourist areas. Next, after receiving the investor's report, the Department will base on legal regulations to have a plan for further handling.

The Hoa Tien Resort Project in Xuan Thanh Tourist Area is built close to the sea with more than 300 luxury villas, put into operation since 2019. These villas are commercial housing projects, invested in construction for sale, lease-purchase, and lease according to market mechanisms. The value of each villa ranges from 5 billion VND to more than 20 billion VND.
