Officers and civil servants of the border customs branches under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Customs Department worked throughout the Tet holiday, handling procedures 24/7, and quickly clearing import and export goods.
During the Lunar New Year holidays of At Ty 2025, at the Thanh Hoa Port Customs Branch (Thanh Hoa City), the working atmosphere took place seriously. The Branch has assigned officers and civil servants into 3 shifts to handle customs procedures for businesses. This assignment not only ensures the performance of assigned tasks but also creates conditions for officers and civil servants to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet with their relatives and family.
According to Mr. Ngo Van Thanh, Head of Thanh Hoa Port Customs Branch, all customs procedures are handled electronically, creating convenience and maximum savings of time and costs for businesses. Preliminary statistics from the beginning of the holiday to the morning of the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, the branch opened more than 500 customs declarations with import and export turnover reaching millions of USD. Similarly, Nghi Son Port Customs Branch (Nghi Son Town) has assigned officers and civil servants to handle customs procedures.
Maintaining staff on duty 24/7 to handle procedures has helped goods to be cleared quickly. Meanwhile, many businesses registering to open customs declarations at this branch are foreign enterprises, not taking a break for the Lunar New Year. In 2024, the budget revenue through the Nghi Son Port Customs Branch will reach more than 20.3 trillion VND, accounting for the majority of the revenue of the Provincial Customs Department. In addition to the main revenue from crude oil import tax, revenue from imported raw materials for production of factories in the Nghi Son Economic Zone and export goods will also increase. At the Na Meo International Border Gate (Quan Son), during the Lunar New Year holidays, there are still many imported and exported goods, passengers, and vehicles entering and exiting the country. The Na Meo International Border Gate Customs Branch has assigned officers and civil servants to be on duty 24/7 to ensure quick settlement of customs procedures. At the same time, it coordinates with the border guards to control vehicles and passengers entering and exiting the country.
