Be sincere, don't "fake it"!

Việt NamViệt Nam12/09/2024

Over the past few days, the consequences of the storm and flood have been reported on the mass media and social networking sites, causing the whole country to feel heartbroken and sad. When will life return to normal, when will the wounds left by storm No. 3 on people and land heal?

Perhaps it is not necessary to bring back images, clips, and dry numbers behind which are irreparable losses for our compatriots in storms, floods, and landslides.

The common pain of the whole country in 2024 has been comforted and shared by charitable and supportive activities of people from all walks of life across the country. Although in their own ways, they all carry the strong spirit of compatriotism and national sentiment.

Ủng hộ đồng bào vùng lũ: Hãy thành tâm, đừng 'làm hàng'!
The relief shipment coordinated by the youth of the General Department of Market Management to send to people in flood-affected provinces: Yen Bai , Lao Cai, Cao Bang... has reached Yen Bai.

That is why, in these days, in addition to material support, many localities have proactively postponed or extended planned cultural programs and events to support flood victims, to sympathize and share.

The people who have survived the storm and flood, although there are still many difficulties ahead, can rest assured because they still have millions of people across the country joining hands, looking towards them, looking towards the tearful and painful addresses, but which are also truly the addresses of the traditional spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", "one sick horse, the whole stable gives up grass".

International friends are also sharing the great loss of our compatriots in the flood-hit areas with both material and spiritual encouragement.

Providing relief, sharing, and supporting people in flood-affected areas are activities that all localities, agencies, units, and people across the country are joining hands to respond to, with the spirit of both duty and command of the heart, command of life.

With that meaning, it would be complete and humane if the movement to support and assist compatriots who have just experienced the flood from storm No. 3 could maintain its effectiveness and health.

Effective means that the items needed by the people such as food, water, medicine, clothes, construction materials, etc. reach the right place in the fastest way, to the right people in order to have an effect at the right time. Relief goods need to have immediate practical effects in life, contributing to the early stabilization of the lives of people in flood-hit areas.

Here, local authorities, in addition to providing relief within their capabilities, need to promptly develop plans to coordinate well with socio -political organizations, social organizations, charities, and kind-hearted individuals so that everyone can get what they need, ensuring the Government's directive that no one is left hungry or cold, or without shelter after the storm or flood. The most important thing is to avoid the backlog of relief goods, piling up in warehouses and gathering places, making them have to wait, thus minimizing the effectiveness of the relief.

To be healthy is to not let any negativity happen in the distribution of relief goods to people, not to let goods, food, relief items and money go astray or go to the "wrong" address or destination.

To put it in a healthy way, as the old people used to say: " The way you give is better than what you give ." Giving, supporting a coin, a kilo of rice, a set of clothes, a box of instant noodles is precious, but it needs to be given as a representative of kind hearts and souls, a shared affection at the highest level, and absolutely cannot be the challenging "status" or "pretending" lines of some individuals as seen on social networks these past few days.

Speaking of health, it is also necessary to ensure that not only relief goods arrive safely but also that people and relief workers are protected from unfortunate incidents that result in human lives. Not to mention, in recent days, stories of a relief worker falling into the water and dying, or a relief vehicle overturning on the road are extremely necessary reminders.

I really, really hope for something like that.
