In the match between Gornik Zabrze and Cracovia in the Polish Premier League on September 28, Podolski was not on the list of players due to a calf injury. Instead of staying at home or sitting in the stands for players, the former German international suddenly appeared in the stands for Gornik Zabrze fans.
Not only did the 40-year-old striker join in the frenzied atmosphere, he also stripped shirtless in the 9-degree Celsius weather. Images of Podolski shouting and dancing with fans quickly spread on Polish social networks and media.
