It is known that at 10:00 p.m. on September 30, the Criminal Police Team of Tan Lap Ward Police received a report from Mr. Ng. YL (born in 1976) in Tan Lap Ward about his daughter, Ng. Ng. B. Tr (born in 2007, a first-year student at a university in Dak Lak province) leaving home at 3:30 p.m. the same day. Family, relatives, and friends called many times but she did not answer the phone, and it was unclear where she was. After receiving the report, it was determined that Tr. was possibly kidnapped online, so the commander mobilized all officers and soldiers of the Criminal Police Team to carry out professional measures, verify, and investigate...
At 2:00 a.m. on October 1, it was discovered that Tr was on his way to Ho Chi Minh City (according to psychological manipulation and instructions from online kidnappers). The Tan Lap Ward Police Department's Crime Prevention Team coordinated with the bus company and family to successfully rescue the child when he was on his way to Ho Chi Minh City at 4:30 a.m. the same day.

According to Tr, at around 2:00 p.m. on September 29, he was called by a group of people pretending to be police officers, threatening him about a "drug and money laundering case". They asked Tr to join a Zoom call on his phone and laptop, then the people manipulated his psychology. Initially, the people showed him how to talk to his parents about asking for money to study abroad in Korea with an amount of 350 million VND, but his father did not agree. Tr's father said that the family did not have money to send him to study abroad. When they saw that the first scenario was not completed, the people switched to the second scenario, which was that Tr had a traffic accident and had to pay 10 million VND in compensation, but his family did not agree to give him the money.
After the two plans failed, the subjects continued to threaten and entice Tr to take a car to Ho Chi Minh City to resolve the matter. After completing the work, they would take him home to talk to his family. At 3:30 p.m. on September 30, Tr took a Grab car and left home to book a car to Ho Chi Minh City. During the entire process from the afternoon of September 29 to the early morning of October 1, the subjects always monitored and managed Tr, forcing him to always turn on zoom, mic and camera to share where the screen was and frequently texting to ask where he had gone.
The case of Tr is a strong warning to students and their families to be vigilant so as not to be tricked into psychological manipulation and not to lose money unjustly.
