The shape of the 100km-long expressway through Ha Tinh is about to be completed.

Project implementing units are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to speed up progress in the final stage, aiming for handover in April 2025.

In the last days of the year, at the North-South expressway construction site through Ha Tinh, hundreds of officers, engineers and workers from project implementing units are still working hard to ensure progress.

In the picture is the road section across Ba Vong hill (Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh) belonging to the Vung Ang - Bung expressway. This section has a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND, started on January 1, 2023 by Project Management Board 6 ( Ministry of Transport ) as the investor. After the construction period, the hill has been lowered by 60m, the embankment has collapsed, the project implementation unit is completing the final items such as laying the final asphalt layer and installing the railing system and signs.

Along the Vung Ang - Bung expressway, there are 33 bridges, including 28 bridges on the expressway and 5 cross-road bridges over the expressway.

In the picture are bridges 2 and 3 along Kim Son reservoir, which are being paved with asphalt concrete layers by the project implementation unit.

On the sections with crushed stone and porous asphalt concrete, the contractor completed the slope reinforcement and planted grass to limit landslides.

Signs and final items on the project route are being completed.

The Deo But tunnel project is nearly 1km long, passing through Dong Nang mountain, the north belongs to Ky Lac commune (Ky Anh district), the south belongs to Ky Hoa commune (Ky Anh town). The project is designed to be permanent, reinforced concrete shell, with two separate tunnels, each 15m wide and 8m high. The contractor is currently focusing on the construction of the remaining tunnel.

According to the leader of Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Transport - Project Investor), the right tunnel was dug through on May 19. The left tunnel has 25m left and cannot be drilled through because the natural forest area has not been converted, so the contractor has not been able to level the slope and reinforce the tunnel door for construction. The Board is coordinating with the locality to complete the procedures for converting forest land to continue construction.

At this time, engineers and workers of the project implementation unit are focusing on completing the tunnel shell in December to proceed with the construction of tunnel finishing items such as: fire box, pedestrian railing, technical box, lighting, ventilation system.

The technical niches on the side of the tunnel have now taken shape, reinforced with shotcrete and a rock anchor system. This item is used to arrange mechanical and electrical equipment and fire protection, with a niche every 40m.

The intersection ending the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang route through Ky Tan commune (Ky Anh district) is gradually being completed.

At the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section, one of the 12 component projects of the North - South Eastern Expressway, phase 2021-2025, contractors are paving the C25, C19, C16 hollow asphalt concrete layer. This section is 54.2km long with a total investment of more than VND9,700 billion, passing through Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts of Ha Tinh province.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Executive Director of Thang Long Project Management Board (Ministry of Transport - project investor) said that this section has reached about 72% of the volume, some units have exceeded the expected progress to compensate for the recent rains.

“The unit’s package has reached 90-95%, some locations are still over hills and waiting for technical subsidence to be completed. When the weather is favorable, we will complete the road surface, install the sign system, railings...”, informed a representative of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise - construction package 11,12XL.

To ensure the handover schedule in April 2025, each unit implementing the bidding packages is speeding up and preparing enough human resources and machinery for the project construction process.

In the picture is the location through Cam Due and Cam Thach communes (Cam Xuyen district) where the contractor is speeding up the work of filling the foundation, grading stone and laying concrete.

Construction teams are mobilizing workers and machinery to speed up the implementation of the overpass project on the route.

Due to site clearance problems at some locations on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi route, after completing the handover, the construction unit accelerated the construction of residential underpasses and foundations.

The overpass on Highway 15 through Son Loc Commune (Can Loc District) on the Bai Vot – Ham Nghi route is nearly completed. The project implementing units are grading crushed stone and laying asphalt concrete layers.

The North-South Expressway in the East section through Ha Tinh province has 4 component projects, including: Dien Chau - Bai Vot (phase 2017 - 2020), Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung (phase 2021 - 2025) with a total length of more than 102km. In the picture is the component project of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section (Cam Xuyen district). According to the plan, in April 2025, the entire route will be handed over and put into operation.
