700 athletes compete at the VTV Open Pickleball Tournament 2025

On October 1, the VTV AOSmith Pickleball Open 2025 announcement ceremony took place in Hanoi. The tournament is an outstanding sporting event of the year, contributing to strongly promoting the development of pickleball in Vietnam.

This year, the tournament gathered nearly 700 domestic and foreign athletes, competing in 11 events, with a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND.

In addition, the tournament promises to have the participation of many famous players such as Nguyen Dac Tien, Nguyen Anh Thang (Anh Chu pickleball), outstanding young players contributing to affirming the quality and attractiveness of the tournament.

In particular, the event also had the participation of artists, singers, actors, MCs, celebrities and businessmen, contributing to spreading pickleball to the public.

Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television shared: "Pickleball is a sport that has just appeared in Vietnam but has attracted a large number of players thanks to its easy accessibility. The tournament's organizers will organize a charity fundraising program to support the Tam Long Viet Fund - a humanitarian activity towards the community of the tournament."

Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration spoke at the ceremony.

Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, commented that the pickleball movement in Vietnam is developing strongly, with many tournaments featuring the participation of top Vietnamese and international athletes.

“The event promises to contribute to building a strong and professional player community, while creating conditions for athletes to practice their competition skills and accumulate experience to prepare for participating in regional and international tournaments, enhancing Vietnam's position in the world sports arena,” said Ms. Yen.

The tournament is open to all male and female athletes who are healthy and have not violated the law, including foreign athletes. The entire tournament applies Pickleball USA Competition Rules, affirming prestige and expertise according to international standards.
