Coach Arteta: 'Arsenal completely dominated Man City'

TPO - Coach Mikel Arteta said Arsenal had a completely dominant match against Man City at Emirates, but only got 1 point thanks to Gabriel Martinelli's injury-time equalizer.

Arsenal only earned 1 point in the 1-1 draw with Man City at the Emirates on September 21. Gabriel Martinelli's equalizer in injury time helped Arteta's side avoid defeat after Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 9th minute for Man City.

New signing Viktor Gyokeres, signed for £63.5m from Sporting CP, did not have a shot in the game. Arteta explained: “There were a lot of good balls in the box and Gyokeres was close to those chances. But against Man City it was difficult to create clear-cut chances. There were a lot of good chances, but the final pass was lacking.”

With 1 point, Arsenal temporarily returned to 2nd place with 10 points, 5 points behind the leader Liverpool. Arteta is confident: "We cannot control Liverpool winning every match. It will be difficult, but if we play like the match against Man City, we will be fine in the race for the title."
