Coach Nguyen Anh Duc resigns?

On the morning of September 30, Coach Nguyen Anh Duc was said to have announced his departure from the position of captain of Becamex TP.HCM after a disappointing start in V.League 2025/26.

Coach Anh Duc is said to have resigned from Becamex TP.HCM.

“Maybe I should stop for better things. It’s a pity that everything is still unfinished, but I still appreciate and thank the past days at Becamex TP.HCM. I say goodbye and wish the team success in the future,” Coach Nguyen Anh Duc shared on his personal page.

This decision by former assistant coach Park Hang-seo is not surprising. After the victory over HAGL in the opening round of the season, the team from the land of Thu fell into crisis with a series of 5 consecutive losses in both V.League and National Cup. The 1-2 defeat against Da Nang - an opponent also struggling in the bottom group - was considered the "last straw", making Anh Duc's seat untenable.

Becamex TP.HCM is currently falling close to the danger zone, while direct opponents such as Thanh Hoa or HAGL are showing signs of revival. The worrying thing is that Becamex TP.HCM is playing weakly, almost giving up both in playing style and spirit.

Anh Duc was a club hero, and was given the best possible conditions by the leadership. However, the pressure of performance and a series of poor matches forced him to make the decision to leave. The departure of the young strategist opened a challenging period for Becamex TP.HCM, when the team needed a strong push to maintain their hope of staying in V.League.

Before coach Anh Duc, coach Phan Nhu Thuat of SLNA also submitted his resignation after the Nghe An team's disappointing series of matches right after round 5. Coach Makoto Teguramori was fired by Hanoi after round 3.
