Coach Polking is proud of his students
CAHN Club won their first 3 points in the ASEAN Club Championship this season, when they defeated Dynamic Herb Cebu with a score of 1-0 in the match on the evening of September 24 at Hang Day Stadium. Cebu defended strongly, but Cao Pendant Quang Vinh's goal in the 89th minute helped coach Alexandre Polking's team retain the victory, thereby keeping their hopes of advancing to the group stage alive.
"We had to win this match, but we cannot say it was a lucky win. In this match, we controlled and dominated the game, so we cannot say it was a lucky win," coach Polking affirmed.
Coach Polking denied that CAHN Club won by luck.

CAHN FC was without Quang Hai, Adou Minh and Bui Hoang Viet Anh in this match due to injury. Therefore, Mr. Polking arranged for young central defender Pham Ly Duc to start. In a match without much pressure, Ly Duc and his seniors Tran Dinh Trong and Hugo Gomes played steadily, helping CAHN FC keep a clean sheet and win.
"Ly Duc is a player with a high fighting spirit. Today, Duc had a good match," Mr. Polking encouraged his students. The German coach also praised new player Stefan Mauk (former U.23 Australian player) when he assessed that this player "has class, has speed, and helps strengthen the midfield of CAHN Club".
Coach Polking also highly appreciated central defender Dinh Trong, who commanded the defense to play effectively in the match against Cebu.
"Dinh Trong is very experienced. Because today, we have Ly Duc playing in defense, Dinh Trong's communication with the surrounding satellites in the defense is very important," said coach Polking.

In the third match on December 3, CAHN Club will visit Buriram United. In the final of the ASEAN Club Championship last season, CAHN Club drew 3-3 with Buriram after 120 minutes, then lost on penalties.
After two rounds, CAHN Club is temporarily ranked third with 3 points after 2 matches, goal difference 0. Buriram is at the bottom of the table with 2 draws after 2 matches. The losing team in the match in Buriram in December will most likely stop in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Cebu coach Glenn Ramos affirmed: "I am very proud of my players in the match against Tampines Rovers and this match. The whole team tried very hard, but the last-minute goal was unlucky for Cebu.
However, I still have great respect for the CAHN club players. They are a strong team, have good control and possess many quality players."
