Miss with IELTS 8.0 'shoots' English like the wind at the opening ceremony

This morning (October 24), International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) held the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 school year.

In the new school year, the International University has nearly 2,300 new students and 6 students with excellent achievements who have won international and national awards.

Notably, among the students honored on stage was the new Miss Intercontinental 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc. The new beauty queen was invited to the stage and received an award from the principal for her outstanding achievements in the 2021-2022 school year.

During the exchange and inspirational sharing session with the new students, the beauty queen with IELTS 8.0 level spoke English fluently, making many students admire her.

As a fourth-year student majoring in business administration at the International University in a joint program with the University of New South Wales (Australia), Bao Ngoc shared: "I used to be a freshman, and I was also an ambitious person in life, not only pursuing the title of beauty queen but also in many other fields. During my studies, I also achieved certain achievements."

The new beauty queen is one of the students awarded for her excellent achievements in the 2021-2022 school year.

To the admiration of many people, Bao Ngoc suddenly switched to sharing fluently in English. Explaining the English sharing, Bao Ngoc said: "A characteristic of International University students is that they will study entirely in English in the future, so Ngoc just wanted to send a paragraph in English."

Bao Ngoc said: "When choosing this university as the starting place, it was the openness and positive thinking of friends, seniors and teachers here that helped Ngoc to be able to do what she wanted and not limit herself for anything."

Afterwards, in the exchange session, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc also expressed his thoughts on the phenomenon of many students graduating but not being able to find jobs, while many businesses have difficulty recruiting staff.

According to the new beauty queen, the reason why new graduates cannot find jobs is due to lack of proper orientation. She said: "I myself was once in that position, a high school student, unable to determine what I wanted and pursue in my upcoming major." From there, the new beauty queen believes that passion is the factor that largely determines each person's success. Because only when there is passion will people put 100% of their effort into it.

Returning to the human resources story, Bao Ngoc thinks that perhaps today's world is too open so sometimes you get a bit lost. "For example, some of you go to university but do not devote all your efforts to studying, study perfunctorily or change majors or subjects halfway through, so your learning journey is not complete. And when studying like that, of course your expertise and qualifications cannot fully reveal your potential and abilities," Bao Ngoc analyzed.

“Enterprises need real values, which means they recruit students, but sometimes they are not sure whether the degree will determine whether the student is really serious and has the ability to do and complete the job or not,” Bao Ngoc added.

From that, the new beauty queen said: "When looking at the problem from two sides like that, we clearly see an opposition. One side does not have enough passion to demonstrate their expertise, the other side is looking for the true values of those expertise."

The new Miss Intercontinental also wants the training program to be closer to reality. “Bao Ngoc has worked before and also saw the gap between what she learned and what she needs to do in business. But on the other hand, students must also proactively seek opportunities for themselves, always strive in their journey...”, the new beauty queen shared.

Previously, in Egypt, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc won the Miss Intercontinental 2022 crown on October 15. This 21-year-old girl from Can Tho is 1.85 m tall and has measurements of 87-63-98 cm. Bao Ngoc is known as an impressive candidate with a height of 185 cm and fluent English ability from the first days of the contest.
